Future of semi auto shotguns in Canada

He will gain more support and respect by banning/confiscating guns, than he will lose. The vast majority of the voting public hate guns.
Think 'bout it. How many fudds in our own shooting community wouldn't bat an eye if handguns and black guns were confiscated.

That's why I later stated we are all in this together alone..! We have been disjointed and throwing each other under the bus for years.

After reading this thread does anyone still doubt how it was possible for Canadian gun owners to roll over for several major anti-gun bills c150 (1969), c51 (1977), c17 (1991), c68(1995) like whipped puppies over the span of 5 decades?
The antis often say that owning guns is compensatory behaviour for 'inadequacies' between the legs.
Food for thought.

I'm going to go rabbit/hare hunting this spring with my Alpharms 15SA carried on my bike.

7*ck the antis, the RCMP. It's legal and I have my licences.

It will be a smaller scabbard though...………………

Well having lived through them all as did many others here I don't remember seeing any gun owners rolling over so for your ridiculous comments you were either not with us in the fight which is more than likely or cannot remember what really took place which is also possible

Big difference between rolling over vs being rammed up the ass regardless what we did
One example were you in Ottawa for the last big rally we tried that did nothing?? I would bet the farm NOT. What maybe we should have had a few of their snipers shoot a few of us to show our balls

Once again you are attacking fellow gun owners here who tried their best

So I am all ears .Enlighten me PLEASE and share what we could have done differently over the last 50 years I would love to know as I am sure others would also so we can change the future

Since I for one have no idea what we could have done differently to change the outcome

That is a whole other ball of wax to get into and not directly related to gun owners young or old throwing other gun owners under the bus thinking they will save their preferred style of guns.

The truth in a nutshell, we are all in this together. We all stand to loose the ability to use and own whatever we already can use.

Yes you are right there. It is the next big wall that is coming in the future sadly :(
Take care

...... We have been disjointed and throwing each other under the bus for years.

No one is throwing anyone under the bus. We are all just advocating what we see as right. Many - most - of us don't see it as all or nothing. My idea of what is reasonable might not match yours. It certainly does not match our current PM's.

Disagreeing with you is not the same as throwing you under the bus.

And if used responsibly, most people could care less what you choose to hunt with. However, I have seen first hand where someone showed up at the range in full tactical gear, hung zombie or person targets, pullet out a similar looking firearm, and emptied multiple magazines as fast as they could at close range, only to have other members pack up and leave, because they didn't feel safe around this person. So after experiencing this, when the government mentions bans on this type of firearm, even some firearms owners will not oppose the bans. How you behave can gain support, or lose support.

It is when the other side don't see your reasonableness as anything other than a step towards total confiscation and prohibition of all firearms in private hands. And that is clearly what they are after, by their own words. I'd like to be reasonable but I can't be reasonable with unreasonable people. Note the make up of that word.....UN-REASON-ABLE.

Doubt. Do you mean wonder? No I do not think very many gun owners rolled over. I think there are generally two types of gun owners. Those who believe in the good two shoes myth of the law abiding gun owner who bends over backwards to comply with everything, and then strong silent hold out who simply keeps themselves and ignores BS laws.

I suspect that gun owners in general break down about 50/50. About half of Canadas gun owners currently have a license. The other half said fudge it 30 years ago and has been living in a state of non compliance every since.

I suspect very few of the principled types willing to risk criminal punishment ever rolled over and joined the licensed camp.

So what have we done through 5 decades of all these different bills? And don't forget Bill C10A, C19, C42 and soon to be C71. I think those that make noise but in the end comply, will continue to make noise and then comply, and I think those that have principles will continue to ignore the new laws with near complete impunity, same as it ever was.

Nice, if I had a dirt friend scoot I’d definitely be out on it hunting small game. Here’s a pic of a friends set up on a Vancouver to Calgary trip with his 12g, I can’t remember why he was bringing it but he didn’t get pulled over from what I remember lol.

The thing is, probably 90% of gun owners are not part of a "special interest group". Gun ownership is right up there with golf club, lawn mower and circular saw ownership for them.

You are absolutely correct. I wasn't trying to imply that all gun owners care enough to get involved, just that the POTENTIAL base is actually quite huge, for a special interest group.

But 200,000 people have joined this site at some point. Even 200,000 people, joined and with singularity of purpose, could be a serious force to be reckoned with. However, we continue to splinter ourselves, as is evident by reading here daily. We'll get what we deserve.

BTW, How did Colin get to the Normandy landing. LOL
