Future Weapons LWRC IAR

That guy is a joke. Touching the bolt to show the chamber is cool and proclaiming he'd like to see people do that with other types of rifles seems a bit nuts.

Pretty neat piece of kit. The host's a bit of a goof, but honestly, I bet 99% of the people here who criticize him so often would like like tens times more of an asshat if they tried to host the show. Heck, twenty times.

doubtful.

I doubt 99% of the people here would say the .308 is the standard round of the AK47 like he did..

Considering the demographics of the show is the 12-24yr old male who knows a little about "weapons" why would he act any different?

Very nice rifle! Seeing "Mac" fire the IAR on full rock & roll made me totally jealous. Had to be a blast, literally and figuratively!:)

Hey...here's an idea...let's move all the posts where we bash Richard wassisname to one thread, and every other thread where we have a link to a futureweapons video can be about the equipment in the clip.

Seriously...the guy's doing what he's paid to do. That is appeal to his audience - the lowest common denominator. His job is to make them excited about every weapons system he presents. Statistically speaking, very few people have even a modicum of knowledge of modern weapons systems. By dumbing things down and making them excited about the systems, he is simply doing his job...getting ratings so that ad revenues are solid.

If you take issue with the way the future weapons is presented, then send a letter to the producers. I find it to be a bit over the top myself, but let's try to understand why...an cut the guy a little slack.

So...I'll leave the "Seal" bashing to others...

I admit to curiousity....what is the intended market?

An open bolt AR platform to replace the Minimi? (That seems to be how the Seal was marketing it.)

You're limited in magazine capacity (even with a Beta-C) compared to a 200 round belt...I didn't see anything WRT a quick-change barrel...so once you're hot, you're staying hot.

There are the advantages of being relatively covert, compared to carrying a Minimi, plus having less weight to drag around, compatibility of weapon/ammo/mags/training, but other than those, I am at a bit of a loss to really see the advantages?

Am I missing something?

I mean, the initial fire-superiority gained by suddenly surprising the enemy by having a FA support weapon "hidden" is lost when your 30 round mag runs dry....unlike a Minimi that has a 200 round belt to chew through before you have to reload...

I mean, in the time it takes to change mags 7 times (210 rounds) at say, 4 seconds each, you have 28 seconds worth of mag-change time, which is more time than it should take to pull out a fresh box and reload the Minimi...

Am I missing something?
