German Reticle

Optics Trade in Slovenia has a wide selection of scopes from around the world. They have a variety of scopes on offer with German #1 Reticle, some in stock and some available to order. I have purchased scopes and mounts from them several times, they are easy to deal with and provide good service. I like my Karl Kaps 1-4x with German #1 reticle.

In budget scopes I have a Bushnell Engage and a Prime, 1-4x24 30mm tubes, with illuminated German #4 reticles, I used to have a Nikon Monarch 1-4 with a #4, I wish I had kept that one. I prefer the #4 over the #1, the illuminated dot is fine but I am fairly certain that if I did remember to turn it on I would forget to turn it off. The prime is on a Ruger 450 Bushmaster and the Engage is on a 9.3x62 Husky.

I have a few Swarovski scopes with the #4 reticle. They still offer the #4 in several of their current scopes. One of my favs is a lightweight Z3 3-9X36.

I have had several Leupold Scopes with the German #4 reticle, I am not a fan of the G#1 post reticle. There are some companies offering an Illuminated German #4, I believe Minox being one, which is a terrific reticle for quick acquisition. Many of the current LPVO "AR style" Optics have versions similar in function of not configuration... lots to choose from these days. I just put a Bushnell AR 1-6x24 Illuminated on my bear rifle and found it surprisingly clear and quick to acquire the target... a good choice in a cheap scope, if you are looking for something fast.

I like the pig plex reticule. The circle is handy for offhand and fine group shooting off the bench and at circular gongs.

Good reticle for ease of " finding" the centre while hunting.

If I remember right sighted in either dead on or a little high at 100 metres it would put 200 grain 8x57 loads on target with the first hash mark at 300

S&B Hungaria / klassik 6x42 scopes come in a good German no 4

I would really like to try the German no 1 style reticle on the Vortex razor HD 1.5-8, if I can ever find one

Thanks for this.

I like the German #1. I don't know if a #4 is better than a duplex.

I like the #1 better

I do like #1 better than #4 it I like #4 better than duplex, having the top vertical line thinner all the way makes it easier to see the big “picture” IMO!

I like it when the top vertical line is not there at all. My vx6 2-10 is like this. Also have a razor 2-10 with the g4i reticle that is probably my favourite. Trijicon accupoint good on a big game rifle.

I have a VX3I 2.5-8 with a number one. I have to be honest, I'm a bit on the fence with it. Definitely not a reticle that should be one any sort of rifle you plan to shoot very far, IMO. I have moved it to my 20ga slug gun for next years deer hunt.

Have German #4 on two nikon monarch 1-4. Not sure how valuable that info is; firstly nikon is out of scopes, secondly they are rarely on the EE. If there was a warranty issue, what would happen?

you will get a binoculars or something else as they do not have any warranty center for the scope. best scope ever made for hunting but i did not keep it because of nikon not following up on that.
