Ghost Round? Floating the fourth?

The way I read the law, it is legal.

"Migratory Game Bird Regulations
Firearms, Ammunition
It is unlawful:

-to hunt migratory game birds using a shotgun that can hold more than three shells in the magazine and chamber combined."

And I know the way they check your guns is to see of your MAG holds more than two. As long as your mag only holds two, you're okay.

"...legally put a fourth round..." Get caught with more than 3 rounds in the gun while hunting migratory birds(anything in Ontario), on either side of the border, and you'll be arrested.

Good lord, you worry too much. The law says it must be plugged. Thats it. The CO won't be able to put 4 shells in it.

They won't arrest you either way. Its a fish and game law, the most you'll get is a fine.

If a gamie or anyone else has gotten physical hold of your loaded gun, you deserve the ticket. .

Exactly. Why would anyone hand a loaded firearm to a CO or anyone else?

I hear several people saying: "if you can't do it with the first 3 shots you probably won't with the 4th"...

Does nobody else see this working both ways... If you can hit with your first 3 shots you probably can with the 4th!

Does anyone know if this works with a Fabarm S.A.T. 8? Yes, I realize this is not a traditional hunting shotgun.

I once dropped four birds from one flock with four shots. I used a Browning A5 and was able to load a fourth shell from my pocket and was able to get a bird hanging there in the wind.

I'd be more concerned with action shot guns in semis - since we are not allowed to have more than 5 rounds in a semi- the ghost round would be a 6th...would it not? And how would THAT be interpreted? Again, if a LEO got hold of the loaded gun - that's it...game over due to the intent...but unloaded? It can only hold what is "legal" - the rest? I dont know your honour what the LEO is talking about..."ghost" round? What is a "ghost" round?
Case dismissed! ;o)
