Girl from Ottawa, On saying hello!

Thanks! I started all this just with the idea of only target shooting. But my mind is a bit more open to it all now. I think I'd like to get into hunting. But I'm going to start small, haha. Don't know if I can see myself shooting a deer! But ducks I'd like to start at. Maybe take the turkey course and check that out. I hear it's a lot of fun.

Drop by the RA Centre Range most Saturday evenings, or to EOHC (furthest pistol range in) on Sunday noons to get info on IPSC - now that you have your Restricted, you might as well do something more interesting than just shooting from 25 yards!

There's also Cowboy (Cowgirl) Action shooting, and International Defensive Pistol Shooting (IPDA is similar to IPSC in a lot of ways) - lots of shooting fun!

Congrats! Enjoy the hobby. I picked up a Ruger 10/22 (pink laminate of course!- her request) for my wife awhile back and it was a great gun to break into the shooting sports with. She now has 2 handguns and 2 rifles and 2 shotguns already in about a year!

Ahh!! That's the gun I want! How did she like it?

Welcome aboard

Hi Stace,

Nice to see more women joining the shooting sports. My wife used to shoot and hunt a lot, but now she doesn't have that much time so she kind of lost interest. She was and is a crackshot though. I guess that's what keeps me in line, knowing she could hit me on the run if she wanted to. She's quite deadly with a handgun or rifle. As a matter of fact, she's probably the only woman in the world to have killed a moose with an AK-47 (actually an AKS, but who's counting), back in 89 when we could use such toys for hunting as long as they were semi.

Hope you enjoy it, and that you can convince more of your women friends to join up. We need all the support we can get.

Welcome aboard Stace, hope you will visit Grenville Fish and Game in Prescott to do some shooting.

Hi Stace07 and welcome to the site.
Come on out to EOHC June 19 for a Cowboy Action Shooting match and maybe try a few cowboy guns in a stage.
We also have a Casual Cowboy, Wives and Sweethearts CAS match at Grenville June 12
You'll find yourself welcomed at either or both.

Welcome aboard.

It is so refreshing to see women with an interest in our shooting sport....and even hunting! (Have you heard of our arch enemy Wendy Cukier? I can tell you that you are now p*ssing her off so much being a woman who likes guns....HAHAHA. Way To Go!!!:D)

Have fun and ask lots of questions.....there are a lot of members here with encyclopedia knowledge about guns.

Welcome from another cgn new guy.
My daughter and her friends often out shoot us strutting male peacocks, but the suprising thing is how quickley they became really good shots.
