I always have a streamlight stylus pro with me. It’s nice for mechanical stuff when I don’t want to dirty or damage my phone. The magnet is super handy for that. The clip is set up in a way that I can leave it in my pocket to illuminate the way hands free so it gets used that way too fairly often.
I use some higher power spotlights too for finding/inspecting things from distance at night; specifically looking for livestock and judging their condition, and for inspecting things up on towers without having to climb all the way up at night. Those lights ride in the truck, sometimes battery powered sometimes corded -yet to find a really good one.
A problem with a lot of lights is non-standard batteries. A weapon light that I own advertises to accept 18650 batteries but still only takes a non-standard 18650… the battery type is a major consideration to me when buying non-rechargeable lights.
A couple months ago I was looking at the oLights for a new weapon light/laser combo. The price point was the main attraction but some friends who use them for work said they didn’t know if oLight was good or not so I went with something known to them.
