hey guys ME again... great eh! ummm if anyone is in the IPSC what is a good starter pistol that is very reliable and affordable that is NOT a glock?

Thanks guys as usual,

J

If you don't mind a plastic frame, by all means go with M&P or STI GP6. But if you prefer a metal frame and don't want to pay twice, get a CZ Shadow, you won't regret it.

Strange limitations folks just starting out set on themselves. "Not a Glock."

Let's see. Reliable. Simple manual of arms. More than adequately accurate for spray and pray - oh, excuse me, IPSC Canada. May not like cast bullets, but hey, a drop in barrel with conventional rifling gets past that, and what's not to like?

Oh, some guys on here, or some other site, don't like Glocks. I see. Oh well.

Kind of that I was thinking.

The Glock is plastic boredom at its finest, but it always goes bang and it would be plenty accurate for IPSC.
Shoot 20,000 rounds and maybe then have a look at a decent Government, Sti, or whatever waxes your board.

Just a thought?

Dropping in an after market barrel would bump you out of Production Division (assuming that's where the OP wants to be). Aim plated bullets are not much more expensive than cast...

Glock is a great gun, but it is not designed for competition.

Maybe when Glock will fix its insanely unnatural grip (every time I bring it up, I have to twist my wrists to bring the sights on target) and will make trigger pull as smooth as a regular DA/SA gun, then it would be a decent competition gun. Right now it is sort of a torture device. But hey, if you can master to shoot Glock it will be a piece of cake to shoot any other gun.

Affordable:

M&P 9MM
GP 6
75B
Blade Tec DOH holster (regular one is just as fast)
Blade Tec double mag holders
Wilderness belt.

There is nothing to choose between the three guns listed. The 75B and GP 6 would be two I would look at first before the M&P. Blade Tec makes good kydex holsters.

Slavex you can order direct from Blade Tec if you can't find one from a dealer. Surely there are dealers in Canada that can stock the DOH attachment. The DOH piece fits all Blade Tec holsters I have seen.

Take Care

Bob

Own 4 CZ handguns, 85 combat in 9mm, 75B in 40 S&W and 2 SP01 in 9mm. Does this mean anything, as to what i think about CZ ?
Best bang for the buck for an all metal gun is all i can say.
