Good place to buy a range bag

I have things sent to the UPS Store, Niagara Falls, New York.

I save up all my USA orders until it is big enough to justify the trip. Just came back today. Picked up a set of steel swinging targets rated fro up to 44MAg. On sale for $25.

Also got checkered wood grips for a 1911 - $13

LPA sight sets. $79

etc.

If ordering things to be shipped to canada, it helps to specify US PArcel Post, so it will come to the house, usually duty and tax free. If it goes UPS or FedEx, they charge a brokerage fee and always collect taxes.

^ UPS also charges (or used to charge) this additional loansharking fee, basically an admin fee to pre-pay the duties & brokerage for you because despite you paying for shipping, you didn't give them the money for the customs brokerage so they had to front the cash for it. all of this was also taxed on top of that.

what can Brown do for me? they can SUCK IT.

Ordered a range bag from these guys for $54. Realized too late that they hit me with a $74. shipping charge.....W.T.F.???

Aaarrrrggghhhhhh... ALWAYS insist that US suppliers ship via US Postal Service. Most of them don't realize thatUPS, FedEx, etc. have hefty brokerage charges!

Used (FRAUD ALERT) at checkout and there was no shipping option. Just checked e-mail again and order was cancelled...Thanks Michelle D.!!
Checked (FRAUD ALERT) and funds are back where they belong

I also wanted to just take one "bag" to the range for IDPA so I bought this yesterday at Home Depot for $33. Took it to IDPA last night and it worked great. It will easily fit a few pistols in their original cases, ammo, hearing/eye protection, cleaning gear, holster, mag pouches and more. I was very happy with it...

Re.: FatMAX box

i still have to upload the pics that i took, but they are mostly of the larger cases. however, after giving it some thought, i'd probably skip the larger cases for a few reasons:

after they get loaded up with guns, ammo, tools, etc, they're gonna be heavy and i really don't want to lift THAT much weight at once to get it into and out of my truck.

they're big, so kinda obscene for carrying in a car. trucks might be ok, but then there's the weight

not sealed, so if the thing falls over or is on its side, stuff can fall out easily

wheels are ok, but depending on the ground at your range, could be small and you could be better off carrying than rolling

other than all-in-one convenience, i'm starting to see less and less appeal in those bigger upright rolling boxes. other than the typical toolbox-style like the above pic, the only one that might work is the cooler-style (pic earlier in thread) since it's probably easier to lift, and at least gives a place to sit on. and it's cheaper, too.

i've got a $100 cheque from the gov't - something about the HST thing - so that might go towards this type of thing.

I bought a huge aluminum tool case with dividers in it .Took out the dividers and placed in 4 layers of heavy foam and cut out my gun shapes and amo spots .It has two locks in it and only cost $20 bucks!!I carry my two hand guns and amo with no problems.

Where did you buy heavy foam?

Love it! 'Stealth Factor' in the extreme. You could definately keep that in the cab of the vehicle safely.

I have seen that box and liked it, but am looking for something similar that has keyed lock on.

Padlocks definitely go against 'stealth' factor of this toolbox.

I am embarrassed I didn't think of a tool box myself.

That said I REFUSE to post pictures of my range bag. But I will describe it.

It is a piece of soft sided Samsonite Carry on. Complete with airline tags, and a tiny padlock on it.

You can carry it anywhere and not get a second look. But it's so ugly... so so very ugly.

Holds lots of ammo though!R:d:

That's funny. Smart as well.

I got something like this for around 20 bucks when it went on sale at CanTire (Princess Auto, same same):

I load up all my crap then toss in one (or more) of these from Cabelas for $5.99 (holds a single handgun, is hard plastic and is lockable):
