fed007 said:thx I was hoping for some tips, I'll pick up the call for sure then - maybe a ghile suit won;t hurt- get on my belly as crawl! - I think I was a little too intrusive on their area - next time I will stay low.
I was looking at some Mueller scopes - The silver Eradicator might be the ticket for me. Do you guys know anyone who has these? They have several illuminated dot scopes...
thx

Is that yours goose or just a web pic?
I found a site that sells them for $147 US ... thats a $100 less than Muellers MSRP?

after dinner I decided to go out and visit the gopher field and sight in for 25 yards. The wind this time must have been about 50 km/h. I didn't have a rest either I still managed to hit the target center but I'll need to sight it again in calmer weather - I wasn't concerned about the bullet... the wind was almost knocking me over.
I am going to try again tomorrow so hopefully my luck will change.

PS Mueller has a new site up - much nicer, and the $147 was for the 3x9x40 / my error

for your flyers, if you know you didn't pull them (i.e. they aren't your fault) then they may be wind or ammo faults.
Basically only match grade (premium) ammo will be consistent enough not the throw the odd round. So consider CCI Green tag, Eley 10x and their lesser priced practice ammo, Fed Gold match etc... Regular 22 will throw flyers due to inconsistent ammo, as much as 10-15% of rounds in the more common loads.
Enjoy! You may also find something like CCI velocitors work well and may be more consistent than regular 22 and might be better in wind.
