Gsg stg-44 non-restricted rifle

So help me understand this, without going through the wole thread; the STG44 is not a named prohib, theirfor they couldn't call it a varient of a prohibited firearm right? So the only way they could prevent it from coming in, would be to prohibit it by saying it could be "easily converted", correct?

Assuming that's true, the only real reason I can see this taking so much time, is that billy-bob at the RCMP lab is busting his hump trying get the thing to go full-auto by machining a whole new fire-control group. Gaads.......

Basically yes. They're getting pretty frustrated I think since they prohibed or restricted the AK 22's, MP-5 22's and the better AR 22's based on the variant argument. This one they're obviously having problems with :D. Downside is that they're determined and don't generally play by the rules.

I'd like to see GSG build a belt fed MG42 in .22LR. That would be epic.

Your link takes us right back to the very first page of this thread tho???

Ive only seen the one that Blue Line is trying to bring in. Seems to be the same as the ones the Americans have

sigh... if they made a thomson m1a1 or chicago typewriter .22 rifles I would buy one in a flash!

I know and understand what you are saying, I would to if we LEGALLY could, but Thompsons 1921, 1927, 1928 (1928A1), M1 and M1A1 are Prohibited by class and was put down as "Variant there of" as being Prohibited. Your best best is the Ruger 10/22 kit, which isn't legally allowed to be shipped up here yet.
