I'm not a fan of American doubles, but every once in a while... That is phenomenally gorgeous, and done with great skill (with a hammer, chisel, and files, no less). Awesome, thanks for posting, Sillymike.

- I know beggar can't be chooser, but I think it would have looked much better with fine checkering instead of the flowery patterns on the wood.

Coming from a guy who's happy to be able to make a straight cut on a piece of lumber. I'm always impress how they were able to merge and sculpted the wood/metal back then.

Shows some similarities to the work of Louis Nimschke. It odd (and a shame) that the screw is out of phase.
