GunCare product I found, allows 10/22 to go a thousand rounds without cleaning, :)

back in the 80's when i was a kid and had hair (mmmmm hair, i miss my mullet) i got my very first 10/22.
that poor gun has had probably close to 100k rounds through it over the years.
my regime for cleaning it use to consist of spray WD40 into the action - 2 quick bursts - then it was good for another year.

after seeing that that tank of a gun could run with dirty for year after year i have come to the conclusion that 10/22's in fact dont like to be cleaned.

I like liberal tears

Me Too great stuff:

So there's this stuff....
Its different than anything on the shelf in canada, i've tried it all....

I was skeptical so i called the inventor.

I made a special order and ive been trying it out in a bunch of guns.

One area I've noticed its doing well is in my fully upgraded SR-22.

Soaking wet or bone dry, I go through hundreds upon hundreds of rounds, performing the same in the last mag as with the first.... and the gun is not gross inside after.

Im still testing it out... only had a couple days out with it.

When should I put out a proper report on the stuff, and what tests should i do?

Its great at cleaning milsurp SKS's.... clean operating, pulls stuff out of the bore, and totally eliminates corrosion even without cleaning the gun for days after running a thousand dirty milsurp rounds through it.

What do people want to know about this kind of thing... before I spout off about it and post all the info about how to special order it etc.

Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!

You placed a "special order", eh?

Did "the inventor" throw in a set of Ginsu chopping knives with that "special order"?

Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!

I need a 6 in 1 tool . How much would I pay? A million dollars, take my money!!!

For you, my friend, a special discount!

You get the fabulous 6 in 1 tool, the Ginsu knives, plus a 55 gallon drum of the miracle lube, all for a paltry $500K!

You might ask, "how can I sell all of that for such a low price?" But my distributors in Nigeria won't allow me to say.

This offer is time limited though. Hurry up and mail me a bank draft before midnight tonight to secure your purchase!

I shoot CCI Minimags. None of my 22s need cleaning and yet I still do. There is a Zen state that comes when cleaning guns. Cheap therapy and an essential oil treatment all in one. Amazing what the smell of Hoppes No 9 can do for ones soul... :)

[h=3]Case 7: Joshu Cleans the Bolt[/h]A monk asked Zhaozhou to teach him.
Zhaozhou asked, "Have you fired your 10/22?"
The monk replied, "Yes, I have.""
Then go clean your bolt", said Zhaozhou.
At that moment, the monk was enlightened.

If you didn't have to clean your gun you could never use the guaranteed excuse to get off work.
"I need the day off work. The voices in my head told me it is a good day to clean my guns". No body ever questions that.

When my Dad gave me my 10/22 when i was 13 i never ran a brush down the bore or relubed till i was like 20 im going to guess it had about 70 000 rounds thrue it in that time and was still gopher and bird accurate and still ran fine jam once and awhile. Not that accurate though i did an ammo test for a school projet and tested about 15 diffrent brands of ammo and if you can belive this rem thunderbolts were the best but only grouped about an inch at 25 yards lol oh how you learn things over the years.

just a follow up, my sks was fine (non chromed barrel) after a couple weeks in storage after 500 corrosive rounds... having been thorughly treated several times prior to shooting day.

the stuff salvaged an otherwise ugly bore on an old mosin, and my SR22 has never run better on a variety of ammo, doesnt get gunked up and wipes clean like magic.
