Gunsmiths that you recommend

I had a barrel made and fitted by Rob McLennan, a conversion from .22lr to .17 Mach 2 and he made a beautiful job of it and produced a unique rifle in the process (Browning A-Bolt 22 / .17 Mach 2).

PS I won't even mention a Mr Hendry in Bentley.

Can't recommend anyone more than Jason Spencer @ Gunco, in Ottawa. Hell of a guy, the most stand up businessman I have ever met, extremely talanted...maybe more than he knows! Especially good on metal...rifle, handgun, shotgun and can be amazing on wood repairs.
Doesn't suffer fools easily, so if you're looking for a place to beat your chest about the 600 yd. shot you made, uphill, in the dark...look elsewhere.
The best there is for our generation.

He is based out of Langley B.C. and I think he only works on Remington's and custom actions. He built my 6x284 for f-class shooting, very meticulous and standard rates. It was a 1 month turn around for a full on custom rifle, new barrel, he built the stock and steel epoxy bedded it with huge pillars, recoil lug, Jewel trigger, PTG fluted bolt and firing pin etc.

My vote is for Dennis Sorensen. A truly profession gunsmith with strong ethics and business values. He will defiantly get my custom gun work again!!!.

Anybody recommend a good gunsmith in GTA who can put mounts on a yugo m48 mauser? I have the mounts and screws just need someone to put them on.

Edmonton Gunsmith Rod Henrickson

Another +1 for Rod Henrickson, Gunsmith in Edmonton, AB. Very fast service and quality work, and he works weekends as well!

I mentioned ordering springs from the US for my pistol and he can make most any springs you need as well.

Is there anyone who specializes in working on single shot falling block rifles like a ruger #1?

I'd like to have a barrel spun on but also the saftey sunken into the action tang.

CRAFM and CZ warranty work

Daniel Sell at CRAFM does phenomenal work. He's a master gunsmith from Argentina with 30 years of experience.

Give him a call at 514-635-4867
he is located in montreal.

Daniel may be a master gunsmith but . . . . he just took a 5 week vacation and CRAFM sat on the CZ warranty work, my CZ512 included.

CRAFM is the problem, and reading other posts, I am not alone in receiving poor CZ warranty service from them. They BS me daily!

CZ owners beware if you need warranty work done!

I don't believe he does any cut-rifling or buttoning in his shop.

I just had a custom brake of his put on my .300 WM. I shot it yesterday at the range and was blown away. My .300WM is still on a 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper after 100 yards. Spotting hits @ 200. The bedding job he did was stunning as well. I can't wait to shoot the snot out of this barrel just to have him put a new Krieger on it :D
Also I was concerned about shift in POI and other nuisances, not relevant. I was trying to develop a load in .5 grain increments and all my 3 shot groups were .5MOA.

I actually wanted him to true and print my action and he told me it was a waste until I re-barrel. Unless I was having a significant issue, not worth it. Glad he didn't just want to take my money. He even sent me picture and video updates, watching my baby spin on the lathe as surgery was happening!

Give him a call, hes a genuine guy who's picky about his work.

Cheers if you read this Pat.
