Hammer fired polymer pistols? This is the only style that I do not have in my collection. I have hammer fired steel DA/SA, hammer fired steel SA only, revolvers and striker fired polymer pistols.

What are your thoughts and suggestions or am I wasting my time. I always appreciate the honest feedback.

Any CZ 07 or 09 owners out there, I would like to hear what you have to say about your firearm. I keep on reading about the "frame bulge" issue. For those of you who are wondering what this is, its the small gap that occurs overtime between the slide rail and the polymer frame in the trigger mechanism area. This may happen on one or both sides. CZ said it has no affect on the function of the gun what so ever. I was just wondering as this seem to pop up every time i google the 07 or 09.

The FN FNX series seems to fit your bill. I have an FNX-9. I wouldn't say it's anything amazing but it's a perfectly functional handgun without any flaws that I've noticed.

I've never had a hammer fired polymer, but just recently took a roll on a Walther Creed because the price was right. It's in the mail now, so I have no impressions of it yet, but Hickock45 sure seemed to like the trigger in his video of it. And the price was sure good. Looking forward to trying it. Comes with 3 mags, and made in Germany and by all accounts typical high quality Walther.

I had a CZ P-07 Duty and CZ 75 SP-01 Phantom, both in 9mm. I only put a couple of hundred rounds through them so I can't speak to lengevity. But they did have a unique feel to them.

The convertible decocker/safety on the P-07 (and P-09) is also a pretty cool feature if you like that sort of thing.

The Phantom, though was the best feeling pistol I have ever held. But of course this is highly subjective. It also took standard CZ75 mags, which was nice. Standard CZ75 trigger parts iirc, so a pretty dang nice pull too.

P07 is a great pistol. I prefer carrying it "cocked and locked" so I replaced the de-cocker with the included safety.

My only complaint is it has a long reset.

I had the pleasure of shooting this gun and I have to agree with Hiscock45 its a treat. They call the trigger in this "pre-cocked" so it replicates the feel of a striker fired gun.

I was able to examine a CZ 07 at my LGS a few days ago and it felt nice in the hand. The sales associate indicated that he has a Phantom and its one of his favorite. I have not had the pleasure of holding one yet.

Yes I noticed the long reset.

I am making a list of all the recommendation's. I am going to be checking out the ease of getting any accessories or extra parts. I know some guns can be a pain to get sights and mags for.

You can't go too wrong with the CZ, but if you have a collection going, I'd suggest also looking at the HK USP. It is probably the most iconic of the hammer fired polymer frames, and second to none in terms of reliability and durability. The grip size and shape get mixed reviews. I personally really like it.

My first choice will be a SIG Sauer SP2022 9mm/40SW = excellent pistol, reliable & accurate.
Second choice H&K USP 9mm/40SW = excellent pistol ...with the exception of mag release paddle system on trigger guard, one thing that kept me away from this pistol

I totally forgot about the HK USP. If the grips are anything like their striker fired guns then its a winner.

The Sig SP2022 is pretty much like trying to find a needle in a haystack. I have never had the opportunity hold one. In regards to the paddle release system on the USP its very similar to the release my Walther PPQ M1 I had. Its very popular in Europe and never really took off in North America. I had no problem with it. You just had to remember which gun you were shooting as muscle memory kicks in looking for the release button.

Excellent info from everyone.

The HK 45 is the updated version of the USP, so if you want a USP go straight to the 45.

The P30L is basically the best thing out there in this category imo but I have a weird "thing" for it. Still waiting for the day I buy one.

Edit: Is optic ready a big deal for you on this pistol or not?

Optic ready is a non issue for me.

I've had a few of the guns listed here but am still the proud owner of a Beretta PX4. Great shooter.

Watched some very positive reviews on the PX4 Storm, have not owned one.. yet. But it seems to match the criteria poster is looking for of hammer fired and polymer.

:)
