I think some people are missing a point about handgun hunting, and that is that handguns can be just as effective as any other gun, even at long ranges. I have seen tons of this on TV done in the states, hunters out with a 500 S&W magnum taking deer at 150 yards, using a scope of course. Or other hunters taking boar with a glock 17...
Hunting with a handgun is no different than hunting with a bow, a shotgun or a rifle. You have to know your firearms limits and stay within them. Different handguns will open you up to different game at different ranges, and there are no concerns about stopping power with many handgun calibers, ie, 44 mag.
