What you fellas are proposing is the same thing. All of a sudden people will want to get a hunting license so they can pack heat.

I understand what you're saying... but you realize they'd still only be able to pack heat out in the woods, right?

This wouldn't allow them to 'pack heat' around town. And federal transport rules for restricted firearms would still obviously apply.

so... i'm not sure what the advantage of it to them would be? They can have guns in those areas anyway.

As an added note - the idea that suddenly there'd be a whole bunch of people interested in getting their hunting licenses and increasing our numbers in the eyes of the gov't doesn't really upset me much :)

I really don't have an argument, just irrational fears, so I'll just try to make an insult...YAWN:p

Nothing irrational or fearfull! Sorry for the backhanded insult, but you do seem to be trying to live up to your signature line:dancingbanana: and as far as the YAWN goes, got ur attention didn't I? You should get a little more rest.

Why is it some Canadians have difficulty with the concept of freedom? Were they galley slaves in a former life?

You have a weird concept of freedom. We're free to qualify to drive? Why not qualify to shoot?

...............If their is no difference when was the last time a drug deal or robbery was commited with a Winchester 94 or a Ruger 77?? We can blab about being united for gun rights and what not but lets face facts. To own a rifle doesn't turn alot of people's crank but give them an easy reason to carry a handgun then you will see.

Be carefull. becuase you might be accused of being irrational;) and fearfull:) and a slave in a previous life;)

What about concelment frightens you?

There are 2 options:

Why are their only two options? and they are both yours? Mine might not be the same as yours there are still other options.

Make everyone qualify and re-qualify.

How does qualification deal with Win 94's concern about concealment?

Do you know how to use the internet?

Americans can carry in the bush, and they have relatively few problems wiht misuse of handguns in hunting seasons by hunters.

Well, I guess their bush, handgun, hunting problem might seem insignicant next to their overall gun problem:(

Bingo Gatehouse.

Win 94 - its sounds a little zoo like out in the oil patch right now, are you not then worried about some of the lads legally carrying hunting rifles at work and making it unsafe for you

I would like to go up in numbers as well but not for the sake of pure numbers.

Most of the loggers where I hunt already carry rifles in their trucks. What's the difference if they've got handguns?

LOL if they were carrying handguns you'd be able to get outside of their effective range faster when you piss them off. I'm much more scared of an irrational nutbar with a .338 than I am of a nutbar with a .38. I can probably take a few .38's and keep going.
