has anyone tried instaling one of the Magwedge quick rails on a VZ58?

Any updates or design tweaks to get this running 100% I'd really like to mount a 1-4x on my gun.

It appears that the price of having a full length rail on this rifle is the occasional FTE. I thought I had the problem solved completely, but it seems as if about 1% of the time this happens on most rifles. If the occasional FTE is not a deal breaker for you, this rail is a viable option. If you require an absolute zero malf setup, you may want to wait for the gen 2.

The gen2 version (aka Tactical model) looks to be issue free, but the production of this model has been delayed due to some very substantial dealer orders that needed to be addressed first. I expect to see a production of the new Tactical model some time this summer, when our machine shop is free from commitments other projects.

Well you set the hook with Gen 2 and tactical model. :)

I don't take my rifle into harms way but I do train with my rifle and use it in the bush too. When bears are a realistic threat I'd say 100% reliability is a major concern.

Looking forward to seeing the second generation of these rails, will the Gen 2 work with common 1-4x optics?

Any teaser photos?

Thanks

I have pics but will not post any as I have learned my lesson.

Even with a patent underway, there are those who will copy your stuff and pretend it was all their idea.

I'm tempted to try, but know where I can get a spare ejector just in case?

If people are needing spare ejectors let me know and I will see about getting a few in stock.
At the moment I have a couple coming myself so I can test the idea out as well.

As things stand I have only received news of serious issues with stovepiping on the CSA models. We have only had 3 of these complaints, but it would be nice if we could say they will work on every rifle without issue.

The other CZ58 types seem to work well with the rail with only the occasional issue .... in the 0-2% range by my testing, and I have seen others post similar results. The guy posting in the CZ forums reported zero issues after doing the ejector mod. I do think it wise to try the mod on a spare ejector "just in case".
