have people finally lost interest in the VZ 858?

there was a lot of hype over that container Wolverine finnaly had released, I remeber the frustration of people trying to get in the cue to get one lol.

Ok just found the WR762 rifle $1300 plus tax with 1 mag for BB furniture or $1500 for what looks like mis-matched wood.

Funny i have never noticed these, just searched the EE and could not find any of them for sale

Because they've only been out for a few weeks now.

Price is going to depend on supply and demand. Increase supply or decrease demand and cost goes down. Decrease supply or increase demand and cost goes up. We have new manufactured 858 clones hitting the market and that will increase supply. Why would anyone pay an inflated EE price for a used 858 when they can get a new one for the same price or less?

Because some ppl understand the difference between original military rifle (less the barrel and two blocks in the reciver) and a clone.

I'm torn between getting the BCL102 or an 11.5" CSA VZ58 :p

But not selling my 858 anytime soon even if I could make huge profits on it. I used it for a CQB match last weekend and it brought a lot of attention, so interest is still there

The wood is certainly not mis-matched on my new WR762. All 4 pieces of wood match nicely and the fit and finish is top quality and no forward hand guard rattle like the original 858 had.

I really liked my 858 and only sold it when it went prohib because a subscribing dealer here tried to get even with a competitor and threw us all under the bus. When the WR762 came out I looked forward to getting back in the same type of rifle. Canadian manufactured receiver so that's a bonus as well. I'm happy with my purchase.

I am glad to hear you like your new rifle, you can't go wrong with wood over BB. You have to admit the picture on their website of the rifle has some mis-matched wood. Thedy should change their pic to reflect what the product actually looks like.

Congrats on your new rifle

I sold my NR one last year for wedding money. I missed it so much and didn't want to spend 1500 on VZ or WR so I finally found a good deal on a restricted 858. I couldn't be happier

if type 81 for sure doesn't take AK mags and those are not adaptable with minimal filing.. I would consider VZ58-Czech quality is incomparable to Chinese one

Had several, loved them all, still have a couple nib around the home. Being Czech myself, I am biased, it is a very proven rifle. Novelty may have worn off with some, but not in this house.

I'm considering buying one next year. Maybe as a project to do upgrades to it. Are they as good as they seem?

Sweet. Really enjoyed my time in Czech. The 58 always comes to the range.

My VZ58 gets 3 time more range time than any of my AR's. This one is going to the grave with me. Everyone's always asking what it is at the range.

Loss of interest.. i think not. It's just that the market is flooded with cheap ARs, and everyone wants to look like an operator these days. And nothing says operator like an AR and body armour. Lol

It all depends how successful (accurate) BLC102 is going to be.
If it is successful... for extra few hundred dollars you can buy non-restricted AR type of platform.
I don't see why anyone would continue to bother with 858,v58,etc... we may even see them drop back to $1k range.

Cheers,

Because the ammo is half of the cost compared to feeding a BLC102 , how the hell can u compare a .308 to a x39 rifle lol two different animals .
