have people finally lost interest in the VZ 858?

My VZ58 gets 3 time more range time than any of my AR's. This one is going to the grave with me. Everyone's always asking what it is at the range.

Loss of interest.. i think not. It's just that the market is flooded with cheap ARs, and everyone wants to look like an operator these days. And nothing says operator like an AR and body armour. Lol

just curious, Did you pay $1500 for your rifle, or did you pick it up when they were priced reasonably?
That is what I am trying to get at there; at $700 the rifle was a big hit and they were selling by the thousands, at $1500 they are selling a few units.

Yeah, if they were priced at $800.00, I would buy 3 this minute.

But anything over $1000.00 just feels like 'ban bubble' prices to me. (and yes, our weaker dollar)

Because the ammo is half of the cost compared to feeding a BLC102 , how the hell can u compare a .308 to a x39 rifle lol two different animals .

Also the difference between 5moa and 1moa. I guess it depends if you are just shooting to make noise or actually hit stuff at a reasonable distance.
If you just want to make noise buy some pots and pans and grab a stick...

Hahahahahah 5 MOA coming from the 1 rifle who's rear sight drums wouldnt line up or did you not read that part in the article

The 7.62x39 cartridge itself is not exactly inherently accurate. Mate it with poor sights, short sight radius, Chinese manufacturing, and you will be LUCKY to get 5moa out of it consistently.
Post some 100m groups when you get yours and let us all know.

It all depends how successful (accurate) BLC102 is going to be.
If it is successful... for extra few hundred dollars you can buy non-restricted AR type of platform.
I don't see why anyone would continue to bother with 858,v58,etc... we may even see them drop back to $1k range.

Cheers,

You cant be serious by comparing a BCL102 to a VZ58 platform...

Planning on getting a BCL102 (when IOP happens) but wont be getting rid or using less the VZ58 platform. In fact, I'm looking for a restrictes one.

Yes it was a very good buy when they were 600$ but so were the 99$ SKS and shooting isnt exactly a cheap hobby, but cheaper than other hobbies I had before (cars&bikes)

Nah, I won't be posting any reviews for ya. People can live for themselves instead of thru others.
I'll enjoy my new toys instead of whining, crying and bickering over canada gettting something new in for a change.

Your argument is pointless... in fact its more the shape of a purple circle.

If you call hitting my 300 yard gong all day long with 7.62x39 without going broke making noise then ok .. I have a 600y range as my backyard and shoot daily, everything from .22lr to .50bmg .. Can tell you one thing i sure dont shoot up all my .308 match ammo when just plinking at gongs with friends . Lets see those 1moa groups from your BLC102 , maybe with match ammo that costs $2 a round.

You do all that shooting and never heard of reloading? $2/round for 308? I'm down around 40cents for sub-moa 308 loads.
How big is your 300m gong? 15"....or around 5moa lol.

You talk like this T81 is suppose to be a bolt gun or some ####. #### tavors WITH optics are just under 5 MOA yet I'm sure you still suckle at the teat for one.

Honestly no one cares about your grudge against Tactical Imports. So you're butt hurt from them oh whaaaa

I have a realistic expectation for the T81...unlike most of you suckers that think it's the 2nd coming of christ lol. I've seen hype come and go on these types of rifles for decades, there is nothing new here. I'd rather have a $700 US made AR15 then a Tavor...they don't do anything for me.
It looks like a FUN rifle, but it ain't going to do anything better then the other x39 non-res rifles we already have, probably a little worse accuracy wise then an SKS is what I expect. Can you still have fun with it? Sure, but as I get older, the making noise novelty has worn off, accuracy has won me over. I spend more time tuning loads and reloading then I do shooting. I get far more satisfaction putting 20 rounds on a target at 1000 then I ever would putting 200 rounds on a "gong" at 100.
The best thing I hope with the T81 is they are reliable and durable. I know they won't be tack drivers, but if they hold up and function well with some abuse they might be worth it. I have no problem sitting back to see how they play out...being the first to have one means zip to me. I make informed, well researched purchases, not impulse buys and never buy the first run of anything as there are always bugs to work out and better deals to be had waiting until the hype dies down.

But ill take it ur buying a 102 ? Lol. Which is a first run gun?? Take ur nonsense elsewhere, you obviously don't belong in the "red rifle" section of CGN

No, not committed to one yet, but it's peaked my interest so far, much more then the T81...and I have a horrible track record with NEA stuff.
For red rifles let's see.... I bought my first SKS 20 years ago, a Chinese Factory 26, ran through Yugo and Russian versions of the same (still have the Russians as they are better made), a VZ52/57, one of the first batch of VZ58's to come in to Canada, a pair of bolt guns in 7.62x39 to see if I could get any accuracy out of the cartridge...some mosins but they were kind of crappy.
Is this your first red rifle, the one that isn't even here yet? Seems like it...since you are gagging on it like a virgin girl on prom night lol.

I have shot the t81, and it is a reliable, accurate rifle...I haven't ordered one yet, but if u have you won't be disappointed
