Heckler and Koch - how do you pronounce it?

I'm with Slavex on that one. HK guns are just plain overpriced...

pmt if Berettas is overpriced than HK is a bigest scam ever!!!

03166 Beretta 92G Elite IA 9mm 1,195.00 NEW

02067 Heckler & Koch USP 9mm 1,125.00 NEW

03443 Sig Sauer P226R, Black Nitron 9mm 1,150.00 NEW

Prices vary a little regionally, but I don't see any real scam here. These 3 are from the same store.

I agree. The USP is not significantly more money than most other service pistols.

HK over priced?

HK overpriced? I don't think so. Yes you can get your garden variety stuff for the budget minded, ie; beretta, S&W, Ruger etc. I own some of these guns and enjoy them too. What I mean about garden variety is go to any gun show, the common guns are plenty. Never see HKs, or should I say rarely. Owning a P7M13, I get comments about it, sometimes about the price. But so what. Sour grapes I say. Besides, just enjoy what you have and shoot it. my two cents, cheers

It's funny, whenever HK is mentioned on this board, there's always an excited Burrito fanboy who rushes to inform everyone that HK guns are overpriced pieces of crap. Well folks, what's seen as overpriced by some is considered paying a small premium for a quality firearm by others. Believe it or not, some people would pay an extra $200 to avoid dealing with shattered slide pieces flying in their face, cracked frames, and sheared off barrel lugs.

You're not a S.E.A.L. 'till you've eaten Italian steel.

HKs are overpriced so are Sigs..

03166 Beretta 92G Elite IA 9mm 1,195.00 NEW

02067 Heckler & Koch USP 9mm 1,125.00 NEW

03443 Sig Sauer P226R, Black Nitron 9mm 1,150.00 NEW

ptm you listed the Elite model, what about a regular 92fs  they go for $1000 and that's Inox (stainless) Bruniton is about $950. A stainless USP will be at least $1200+

Hk have plastic frames just liks Glocks and Glocks go for $900 not $1200. Now, I'm not a big Glock fan but I doubt that HK is that much better in quality....Still think Hk is not overpriced ?

No I dont.

No I dont.
I didn't say HKs are junk, but they definitely ARE overpriced! OK, do you really think that it costs more to make a plastic Hk USP than a stainless/alloy Berretta? Come on?

btw I think all gun in Canada are overpriced if you compare our prices with prices in the US. But even there HKs and Sigs cost more than Berettas, Glocks or CZs.

I think Glocks are overpriced too at $900! compare ‘em to Springfield XD for around $700. No plastic gun should cost over $850...

I own a Beretta, a Glock and an HK, and others. I dont buy into the theory that all metal is better.
I agree prices in Canada are high, but not so high that dealers are getting rich on handgun sales alone.

Dude, do you honestly believe that the cost of raw materials is the only thing that affects the overall manufacturing cost? If that was the case, than Berettas would also be grossly overpriced, as you can get an all-steel CZ 75 for $300-350 less (and steel is a more expensive material than aluminum). The cost savings of using plastic over aluminum amount to maybe a couple of bucks per frame, at most. Things like front-end engineering and testing expenses, quality control, and employee wages cost a lot more than raw materials. It's silly to suggest that a certain gun costs less to produce simply because it has a polymer frame.

Ask a german to say cook. Yeh some say Coke. but thats stupid. Its not coke. I speak the ####ing language. I had to cause my mom is austrian. Yeh I suck at it but I know enough that its not coke. Do not pronounce the K In coke and your halfway there.

I didn’t say that materials used is the only price factor, but it certainly meters. As far quality control, engineering etc goes I don’t think Beretta or Glock are second to HK.

What I’m talking about is value for money I don’t care what some guy gets paid an hour…But as far as quality goes HK aren’t worth $1200 since you can have a Glock (if you like plastic) for $300 less. Or Springfield XD for $500 less. Do you really think that HK is that much better overall (if at all) over a Glock or XD. I think the answer is NO

If I didn't think so I wouldn't have bought it.

P.S. To throw your question back at you, do you really think that Beretta is that much better than a CZ 75 to justify the $300-350 dollar difference?

I pronounce Heckler and Koch "High Kost". And I still own a couple. They are better made, better engineered (generally), so yes they're worth a bit more (to me). I also use Lee loading equipment, saving money where it makes sense.
