Just received my HK P30L this afternoon. I haven't fired it yet, but I've been admiring its ergonomics. The medium back strap, with large side pannels, is the best fit for my hand. You'll need a 1/16 punch to drift out the roll pin. Being a lefty, the ambidextrous slide release is an outstanding feature. Slide release and safety are all easy to reach. The contoured grips are dreamy, compared to the hateful cheesegrater grips on the USP. Has a slightly cheap feel, like all plastic guns. Bore axis is not as low as I thought it would. But, lower than the USP. Here's a couple of pictures:

Congratulations,...>ARRRRRGGGGJHHHHHHHHHHH!

WHYWHWYWHYWWHWYWHWY!

#### HK. Just kidding. MAYBE I will get one before Christmas!!

Can you compare the grip to any other gun you have owned? I was thinking the small side panels with medium to small rear panel would be suitable for me. How is the Double action? Single action specifically compared to a USP or USP Custom sport?
If this gun was a woman,..would you make ###y time with it...LOL

I think I will begin to use this next season for CDP. I heard the USP holsters will work with it..l have a Bladetech belt holster for my USP,..as well as a Speedsec collecting dust. Might use the Speedsec and the P30L for some IPSC matches in early spring.

I have a bladetech for my USP as well: whenever my P30L gets here, I'll definitely try that out and let you know.

Doesn't suit my tastes. Too big of a gun that only holds 10.

Except Canadian law forbids anything more than 10. Or are you referring to sheer size in relation to magazine capacity? It's not that big a firearm... Unclewalther can correct me, but I think it's about the same size as a P2000, and they're pretty small.

Looking good.

Let us know what you think when you get it out to the range. How does it feel in the hand? Is it really front heavy? That is always my concern about plastic frame guns... and also guns that start getting long up front.

But still, that looks like a nice gun. Hopefully the rest of the shops will start getting them so that (1) the rest of us can get a close look at it; and (2) Maurice can escape the 5th ring of Dante's HK Inferno where he currently resides!!

Also, does Maurice or anyone else know if the P30 and P30L are all going to be all 9mm or what? Having the P2000 in 9mm, I might be more inclined to get the bigger gun as a .40 if they start making one. The HK USA page seems to indicate that the P30/30L are only available in 9mm. (if they make a P2000SK in .40, I think they can make a P30L in .40!!)

That is interesting about the holsters. I also have a holster for a USP kicking around that I couldn't find a buyer for in the EE (from back when I used to have a USP). If someone can confirm that.... I guess I should hand onto it for now.

The grip reminds me of a Walther P99. I tried to fit in an old fobus holster I have for the USP.... didn't fit. The pistol is a little less front heavy than a USP, in my opinion. The DA is pretty heavy, but feels smoother than the DA on a USP. SA weight feels about the same, although the P30L seems to have a LOT of take-up in SA mode.

Soli: I think the P30L is bigger than the P2000. From pics I've seen on HK Pro it is still more similar in size to the USP than the P2000.

Uncle Walther: Thanks for sharing the pics... jealously has set in and I may never speak to you again (j/k!)

Ghostie: P30's are all 9mm for now. It may be in the near future that there is a P40 or a .40 cal version of the pistol but I think this is it for now from what I've read.

The P30L is to P2000 as the the USP is to the USP Compact. The 30L is bigger in practically every respect compared to the P2000.

Anyone stocking spare mags for this thing? I can't find any.

Haven't had it out yet. There is no 9mm ammunition to be found where I live..... sold out!!

In the meantime, post more pictures! :runaway:

Mine still isn't here. I really wanted to try it out this week-end, but I guess it'll have to be next week after work whenever I get it, since Canada Post is slower than a slug.
