Hey gents,
So, I'm not exactly new to the firearms game, but I am thinking about jumping into the hunting game. I just got my licence here in SK (Northern) so theres tons of opportunity. My dilemma is (you guessed it...) which rifle to get. I've narrowed it down to two choices:
1. Ruger Gunsite Scout in 308 Win- 18.5" barrel
2. Savage 110 Scout 308-16.5" barrel (new accufit model)
I was leaning towards the savage but stumbled upon the old barrel length vs accuracy debate. I would be using it for predominately Deer and/or Moose (been told by some experienced hunters 308 is fine, it's shot placement that counts) and probably wouldn't be shooting at much beyond 200 yards (possibly more if hunting further south).
Any advice from you wise and helpful gentlemen would be greatly appreciated.
