Help me pimp my glock22!

Or you don't put special rims on your car at all unless they serve a purpose...

It's a forum, not a support group. And to say TDC is "dividing the shooting community" is ridiculous. Sure he has a different opinion. If you don't like it, dont post on a public forum.

There is value in his thoughts about "upgrading" rather than "pimping". Sure you can use the word "the same" but if it doesn't upgrade the gun, each will have their own opinion.

Some might consider the pretty safe queen gun the pinnacle of cool. Others might think a glock with stainless steel parts is kinda like a black Hummer with chrome parts and spinning rims... A waste, IMHO Very Metrosexual... lol.

Especially if it never is driven.

Others will think "pimped" is making it a good shooter, not pretty. It is pretty well established that unlike a 1911, glocks are best when closest to stock IMHO. A 1911 takes and enjoys lots of tinkering, modifications, and adjustments.

So, like someone posted above. Pimping in my mind is what makes it shoot better. I dont wan't an extended mag release... I only want the mag coming out when I want it to. I don't want an extended slide "release" because I find people with "fat fingers" ride the slide, and sometimes stop the action from locking open. Especially if you have an extended release.

If you were really "pimping" you'd have some tritium, or Heinie Straight eights on it...

Not "ear rings" and makeup.

Remember Tommy Lee Jones:

"Get rid of the nickle plated sissy pistol, and get yourself a glock.."

It's just hard to take a "combat" pistol or shooter seriously when they want "bling" on the pistol. It's like wearing flashing lights with camouflage....

But if you want to by ammo instead of accessories, or have a ton of ammo ready.... lets hang out and shoot.

Cant we all just get along?

;)

I think you have it the other way around. Nothing wrong with someone wanting to mod their gun. No one is acting as if they are a navy seal training officer. Just my 2 cents.

TDC,

Regarding you posts in the "Pimp my GLOCK" thread -
My intention was not to start a fight, nor was it my aim to call anyone out. I did get a little worked up for that I apologize. We all need to stick together when it comes to firearm issues, not arguing about who does what to their legally obtained firearm.

I understand your points that modding your pistol out in a lot of aspects does not make you a better shooter, only training and rounds down range will do so.
People mod their firearms out to make it their own. After all "Their are many like it, but this one's mine"
So what if they are posers/collectors, they are licensed members of the shooting community, that means they are on "our side."
I appreciate people like you that tell it like it is, if asked a question you give a straight answer. That's cool and I like that, but it doesn't mean you need to be a bit rude about it.

To the people making personal attacks on other members, that is really uncalled for and childish.
We need to all get along, and stick together. Lets save the drama lama for something else that's less worth our time.

I sound like a broken record here.

After all "Their are many like it, but this one's mine"

And every one of those Marines have the same rifle without mods... LOL

Sheesh. I got to this one a little late and don't know what this will be worth, but hey - I have recently heard that CCF Raceframes are now just becoming available in Canada. Mike out in NS tells me that they have hurdled the import paperwork (frame = serial number = firearm = restricted) and that they will be factoring in the variables and setting the costs for the frames soon. What impressed me about CCF was that the President of the company took the time to call me and spend about 20 min selling me on the (practical to action shooting, if there is such a thing) features of the new frame. If you really have a rod for Glock, you gotta love a nice stainless or titanium frame.....:)

Oh, by the way - I pimped my G35 by replacing it with an SVI.:D

FOLKS KEEP THIS ON TRACK ABOUT PIMPING OUT YOUR GUNS. YOUR GETTING OFF TRACK HERE. WOULD SUCK TO HAVE TO LOCK IT.

Your understanding is appreciated.

i was looking at those race frames the other day, and was actually wondering what the legality would be.

would be neat to build up glocks like people do with AR's :D :D

Justin1877,
I never said there was anything wrong with mods/bling or pimping of a firearm. Its a personal thing. I get tired of reading about the must have mods or accessories because "I can't shoot the Glock" "the grip is uncomfortable" 'the trigger sucks". Those who post such statements then champion some mod to fix it are straight up posers. There is nothing wrong with the gun, its the shooter that has issues. Modify your gun to your liking. Just don't talk sh*t about how any mod is necessary for the pistol to function and place rounds on target on demand.
(this isn't directed at anyone specific)

As for night sights, most are similar to non tritium sights in the light so they don't offer any significant advantage. I run XS big dots on all my Glocks. the system does offer daytime advantages as well as low light/no light advantages due to the tritium illumination. Much like Glocks, the sights often get negative reviews from people who either fail to give them an honest try or can't shoot to begin with. They aren't uber precision sights either. They're designed as a fast sight for defensive shooting. That being said, precision shooting can be accomplished to a certain extent.
