Henry's PCC -yes it takes glock mags

The 5 rd mag rule is really just a way to ban all mags as theoretically someone could 3d print a bigger one.
#NatureFindsAWay

The 5 round thing is a way for them to clearly show that they are not interested in facts and evidence and despite their claims they don't respect licensed gun owners and are not willing to be reasonable in their pursuit of nonsense, division and disrespectful treatment of Canadian gun owners.

They claim to be listening and talking with stakeholders, but there is no evidence to point to. 100% BS do nothing but waste resources for political gain.

44 mag would be cool, but if it uses a proprietary magazine it would be limited to 5 anyways. You'd need a 44mag pistol magazine (desert eagle perhaps? I can't think of another 44mag handgun...) to get to a 10 round limit.

Henry doesn't make handguns that I am aware of, so the base model with the henry magazine would be limited to 5, no?

Everyone is going to want the glock mag version here if thats the case.

In the video the Henry rep says they will offer 5 and 10 round Henry mags.

I live in the real world too, but, it WOULD be nice to read some 2023 SHOTSHOW news and not have every other comment read; "what's the use/C-21". Buy it or don't, but make no mistake=LPC wants all your guns. Safe to assume everything past/current/future will be impacted if we can't turf this idiot from office. Until then.

The Henry-I've only owned 1 Henry but have shot a few others. (all rimfires) While they all looked nice/shot well, there is something about the glossy (painted?) alloy receivers that looks off to me. I'm OK with alloy and actually appreciate the weight reduction, but Henry commands a bit of a premium for their guns and it's hard for me to reconcile the growing prices with cost-cutting processes/materials.

I may have missed it, but what's the receiver on this gun made of? My interest in the gun probably hinges on that. If we're looking at a $1200-$1300 gun before tax in Canada, it will need to look like it's worth that asking price.

I DO like the looks of it, and if it were 357 or even 44mag, I might be even more interested. Already lots of 9mm options, though this appears to be one of the most appealing so far.

100%, as if people are shocked the liberals want their guns - past present and future. And must tell us all numerous times about their newfound knowledge.
I'm not tucking my tail the minute things turn sour.

Problem is restricted transfers are backed 5-6 months and I don't wanna wait.

Maybe once they start trickling into to Canada, the backlog of transfers will be cleared.

Too bad - If the Henry mag model was strictly 5-rd, then it would NOT be banned under C21, right?

Who knows what C21 will end up looking like but as proposed it sounds like they want most all detahable magazine fed semi's gone.... their 5 round limit is unreasonable and a perfect example of the bad faith in which they are operating.... I would not expect gun manufacturer's to abide by their nonsense.

Is that Canada wide or just in Ontario?
It's hard to believe given that hanguns are now off the table as far as transfers are concerned. Did they get rid of workers at the CFC already?

Aesthetically its got the Ruger beat IMO. Looks pretty stylish actually I kinda like it.
Hopefully they took the time to iron out bugs instead of rushing production. The Ruger was well received, my buddy loves his.

Maybe its a higher quality Ruger alternative. Only time will tell. One thing is for sure, we won’t know by reading the gun writer/reviewers crap.

I was watching a vid where the rep from Henry said they were watching how people interacted with the firearm, they noticed the mag release was recessed and was kinda finicky, they might tweak it for a extended mag release.

I like the fact that there isn't much screws to rattle loose, unlike the Ruger PC carbine. Charging handle is press fitted, and the receiver guts looks like there are pinned together.

Official release will be early Feb

Agreed, I think the painted alloy receivers on the cheap Henry rimfire guns (Zamak) is a huge turnoff.

I haven't seen anything from Henry directly, but several US online retailers list the Henry Homesteader 9mm as having an anodized aluminum receiver. Photos seem to agree. This is NOT the same as the cheap painted alloy receivers of the rimfires, though.

There are several reasons I can think of why nobody makes a semiauto carbine in 357 or 44mag at the moment. I'd guess that the biggest reason is that the straight blowback action just doesn't work well with higher pressure cartridges, and any other action type would be much more expensive to develop and produce.

The henry 410 lever I had was a beauty that put the rossi equivalent to shame

I hear the mass of the bolt in these extends into the forend, there might be more to these rifles than meets the eye

I like my Ruger PCC, but it is far heavier than I would prefer for a bush carry/pack gun. If the Henry being aluminum receiver and without take-down reinforcement is much lighter, I'd certainly take a look, provided it was also NR length, as reliable as the Ruger, and at a similar price point.

^agreed, and I'd have to imagine Henry taking this on wouldn't result in a -$1K rifle either.

Interesting comment on the weight of the PC Carbine. PCCs overall represent the least "useful" caliber/action if I look at how I actually spend time shooting/hunting. Guns like the FX-9 are lighter and more tactical looking, but other than the weight...I like everything about the Rugers more.

For that reason, I hope to never be too invested $-wise in them. I think the look of this new Henry is a slightly more modern take on their mostly classic-looking guns, and I'm half digging it...and half thinking they should have taken a little more time to smooth the lines out a little. I re-watched the video and noticed that the receiver has a matte finish=good. Even if made like the rimfire levers, it at least lacks that glossy look.

I've managed to resist a Henry lever in spite of having shot a couple I really liked. I have one Henry on my radar, the smoothbore garden gun. Odd to feel so tempted by a gun that I already KNOW I'll shoot maybe 1-2X a year. lol I definitely have higher $ priorities. :)

MSRP of $928 USD (Although they say $800-850 street price), so its going to be close but probably a bit more. Closer to the telescoping stock version of the Ruger probably.

As a person who shoots left and has kids that shoot both left and right I really like how abidexterous this gun is; tang safety, charging handle can go on either side, mag release infront of the trigger guard. The only Henry I own was bought specifically because of how ambidexterious-friendly it is (henry single shot) so I could definitely see me buying one of these eventually.
