Hickok45 on the VZ 58

x10! We need to get someone to do the tenifer treatment (nitro carburizing) on our CZ858's again like Rauch used to do.

Is this possible? I would be love to have this done. Can a metal shop or similar type of business do it, or even chrome line the barrel? What exactly is required?

CSA's safety swings forward. Cuz on the real rifle the foward position was the full auto and the CZ rear postion was for single fire. It is more natural to flick it forward than to the rear. Hence the single fire was more controlled timed shooting and if the SHTF you just slide your trigger finger forward to spray & pray.

Huh, well my 858 is down for safe and it swings to the rear to fire. I just assumed they were all like that.

i think if we didnt have the little tab preventing turning it to forward you would find it would still act as a safety. since we lack the fun parts.

In-correct.
It would still fire.
Although it would never be able to fire full auto. It would be semi-auto only.

well i disagree having taken my safety out and looked at how it works there is a depression which would allow the full auto finger to act on the semi auto sear when in the forward position. since we dont have full auto fingers(or whatever you call the part that acts on the semi auto sear) but since we dont have those in our rifles. the safety(selector) will still blocking or keeping the disconnect inactive and the semi auto finger from grabbing the semi auto sear. therefore disabling any action from happening when you pull the trigger same as when the safety is on safe. try it and see ;) also have the parts kit and could post pics of how it really works.

edit: not all safety(selector) switches are the same i have been looking online and most i see are double notched on one side so if you have that and the 2 trigger arms on the trigger both would work at the same time. if you have the single arm trigger there is no effect to this and safe would be all directions on the selector except the fire position. if you altered your safety ie: grinded a notch in it on the opposite side this would work to give you a forward or backward fire select ... but it would cut you safety selector in half as well or weaken it. man i should go to bed lol....
