highest quality hunting rifle?

Like em or not, there aren't many push feed bolt guns that feed as nicely as a MkV. When you throw the rifle to your shoulder the reticle is right there, you don't have to go looking for it. So while Weatherbys have plenty of glitz, there is some substance too. I won't disgrace my gun safe with one though.:stirthepot2:

Not as smooth? Sauer 80 or 202, Tikka, just to name a few. ;)

Then again, nobody makes a beautiful stock like the Lazermark. :puke:

If I were to look for another new rifle I would start at the CZ level at least. The company is also leftie friendly. I have 2 of their rifles now and wish I had known about them a long time ago. Very nicely made and put together. Blueing is some of the deepest and darkest I have run into. Visually appealing both of them and very comfortable to shoot.

Notwithstanding everything that has been posted, before I would spend $1500 on a rifle of current manufacture, I would purchase an early FN, BRNO or Husqvarna sporter in excellent condition, and have a rifle of far superior quality in looks, reliability, and utility.

Canuck444, my humble advice is that nothing currently manufactured even comes close for the amount you would like to spend.

;)Might help to explain some of my purchases as of late:D. And those that know me, another favorite choice is Schultz & Larsen.

Truth,I've seen the Groups of your custom 300 RUM and my Factory 300 WBY Without a Muzzle Break, can get them in just as tight useing 180 grain nosler B\T & 84.5 Grains of IMR 7828.

How about posting a few of those groups for all to see.I would enjoy seeing a factory Weatherby that can average 3/8" with hunting loads, with an occasional sub 1/4" group thrown in for good measure. That is what that 300RUM is capable of,as is shown by the groups that I posted.
