Does the Tommy built adapter still allow for the SL8 bolt hold open and release to still work?
According to the TommyBuilt website you pull the factory unit and install it on the new lower with the new ar trigger. I’m curious how much of an improvement a Geissele SSA E would make over the stock trigger since these guns are startlingly accurate and consistant.
Since they rebooted production in 2021 they quit chrome lining the barrels. Anyone know if they are even more accurate now?

Here are groups from my last 2 range trips using the new TommyBuilt stock with a Geissele Hi-Speed National Match trigger (tried SSP trigger, the trigger had some problems and felt like a 2 stage, returned and got the HSNM which has been absolutely amazing so far)
It is 2022 production so it is the new non chrome-lined version
Shoots amazingly well with 69gr FGMM specifically, consistently submoa, but seems to be able to shoot everything quite well as well
All shot at 103 yards (range claims it's 100 meters (109 yards) but the laser rangefinder says it's actually only 103 yards)

What height scope mounts would you typically run on an SL8 rail? I'm assuming AR 9(1.5") height would be too high?
Anyone who has done the Hera conversion - how did you remove the roll pin from the original stock to get the buffer out?
Good quality roll pin punch set and patience.

So if I read right h@k ...new sl-8’s are not. Chrome lined barrels?
Can someone verify this please

A good question. I looked up a recent (2022 nra rifleman review) and IIRC, they said that their sample was chrome lined.
Yet some knowlegeable people here said no more chrome lining, which if correct, would be a pity.
Yeah - those instructions have left a-lot to be desired. Did you guys have issues with the spring for the locking lever?
They are just wrong as far as I know. Even the photo in that review is of the new non-chrome-lined version. The new production also has a slightly different style crown cut
This is what the muzzle of the new non chrome-lined looks like:
