Hornady ELD-X

Yeah , I tried some rl22 and 162s in my browning 7rm and they are wonderful. This sendero didnt like that combo. maybe h4831 and the 162s will be my next try. I was really hoping the 175s would work... those bc numbers are sick

I would bet your gun is twisted to slow. I’m shooting 180gr eldm out of my 7mm-08 with 8 twist

I've shot the 22 cal 73gr, 6.5mm 143's, 7mm 162's, 30 cal 178, 30cal 200gr, 30cal 212gr and 338" 270gr. I find the ELD's easy to tune, great downrange flight. If you can't get an ELD to group, it's either too slow of a twist rate or you need to reevaluate how you develop handloads. I Haven't killed with them but did hunt last fall with the 162's in my 7saum but never pulled the trigger on anything. I'll be hunting with the 143gr in my 6.5 PRC this fall for deer

One of my favorite bullets these days for shooting. Maybe not the best hunting bullet for some situations

Very similar experience with ELD-M/Xs for me and my shooting buds. Always super easy to find a load for, in a properly set up rifle. We've shot truckloads of the 75 Amax, switched to the 75ELD, and been happy. We've shot a bunch of the 6.5 147ELD, and they quickly became one of our favorite projectiles. The 6mm 108 shots bug holes for us. I don't shoot any 7mm currently, but my buddy has shot a lot of the 7mm 162 and 180, the 180 is insane at long range and in the wind. I'd build a rifle around the 180, it's that good.

I’ve been working with the 178gr eldx in 300win. I’m running rl22. I still need some more development as I’m only grouping 1.5-2” at 100 yards right, I’d like to cut that in half at the very least. Are you guys finding these bullets like some jump to the lands or closer up?

I’m using .020” for the x and the m. Before changing anything try farther away sometimes 100 yard groups suck but 200+ they are a ton better.

I find a decent powder charge then do a seating depth test starting .005” from the lands and work away from them in .005” increments

I used the 162 grain .284 cal in my Weatherby Mk V 7mm RM ..... worked very well. .835" group at 100 yards. I chrony tests them and with my recipe I got 3060 avg velocity (26" barrel). Not super hot recipe but very accurate and a good general hunting load. The standard deviation was 12. I will be using more in the future!
