Hornady isn't messing around with this chambering

$65 die set
$140 match die set
$79 for 50ct brass
$68 for 20rnds of either 212gr Precision Hunter or 225gr Match ammo

Exact same prices as 300 Win Mag

Who the hell needs it though? Really?

From the article in the first post.

"I engaged steel targets out to 1,100 yards and was able to make hits. More of a “fun shoot” than an intense evaluation, actual data collection was not possible."

I'd like to know how many hits he made due to this specific cartridge design than any of the other 300 magnums.

Id still like to see what it could do necked to 35 or 40 cal
Should stomp the whelen and beat the old 450/400

Since it’s based on the .375 Ruger case, it shouldn’t d be too hard to imagine the ballistics if you take a look at the .375 and .416 Ruger.

Sounds like the problem of running .300 Winchester cartridges loaded with long bullets through a standard length magazine could be solved by using a magnum length magazine, but since Hornady is in the cartridge making business rather than the rifle building business, they chose to market a shorter, fatter, cartridge with more case capacity than the .300 WSM for people who exclusively shoot factory ammo. I could be wrong, but it seems like it would be a small number of shooters, who would specifically chose magazine fed, heavy, extended range, factory ammo over equivalent handloads. Everything else the guys in the video talk about is smoke and mirrors, since good accuracy is handily achieved with the .300 Winchester handloads, which if what they say was true, would not be possible. So, how much would 1000 rounds of factory .300 PCR ammo cost be, compared to 1000 rounds of .300 Winchester handloads? I expect I'll stick with my .300 Winchester, but who know what the future will bring.

Awesome thanks for the info Mark, the more I read up on this cartridge the more I like it, I was reading the owner of Bartlein Barrels is shooting this cartridge and can’t say enough good about it.
