How about a SPRING 2010 event?-All sks gong match at poco range

Definitely in for this depending on availability. I'm between jobs at the moment so it's hard to say if I will be able to make it during a weekday as it's probably a 45 minute drive out there from my place. Weekends I am free whenever.
 
Nice 1st place prize and I like the idea of a second place prize with the donated ammo. Also I think that it should be only iron sight's only too because last time only two people showed up with optic's and on Tuesday night's we are limited buy time as the last shot is fired @ 8:30 and by the time we finish it was 7:45. Now if someone show's up with a scope and want to shoot I say we let them but they can either remove it if it's easily done so or borrow my rear cover so that it will be fair for everyone. Unless there are 5 or with optics. I would also like to see only one person as a spotter/scorer. easyrider604 do you still have the score sheet file from last time? Cuz it worked perfectly also I will tell the RO in charge of Tuesday night's that we will be holding this event. Also there will be a special prize for anyone who has a ruskie sks and finishes in the top 3. Everyone who wants to participate in this event can pm me and please state if you have an optic or if your iron sight.

Requirements (to qualify for top prize of one case of surplus ammo) - Bring an un-scoped SKS (yours or borrowed) plus two boxes of ammo (entrance fee and one to use)
Rules - (Satain's previous rules apply - scoped SKS's will be grouped and prized separately)

Rules for SKS GONG MATCH:

  1. Target will be located at the 200 meter mark and will be a 10-inch Square Gong. (through the kindness of Emmab)
  2. Shots will be done by sandbag rest.
  3. You will have 20 rounds to shoot in 5 minutes @ 1 gong.
  4. All hits count, as long as the gong moves perceptibly, or you hear the sound of the bullet impact as determined by the scorer/s.
  5. Scorer/s decision is final.
  6. One spotter/scorer per competitor take turns scoring for each other
  7. Tie breaker: 5 round shoot-off, 1 minute, most hits wins
  8. Entry fee is 1 20-rd box 7.62 x 39 ammo
  9. Most hits wins
  10. Prizes are this time;
    1st Place Prize, Create of surplus ammo
    2nd Place Prize, takes all the entry ammo
    3rd Place Prize,
  11. One class only: Open to all SKS from any country of origin with iron sights, fixed or detachable magazine, stock or tacticooled. (Unless we can get enough people to join up to start another "Optic Heat".)
  12. Since emmab made us 2 gong's we are going to have 2 shooting lanes.
  13. Each shooter will be shooting at 1 gong depending were they are shooting.
  14. Each shooter is allowed one spotting coach to assist him. This spotting coach is NOT allowed to score. So please don't ask the scorer for assistance.
 
I just scored a web design contract that will be using up my time for the next couple weeks and which allows me to work at my own schedule, so I will be in FOR SURE. I may be bringing 1-2 other shooters.

Is there a restriction on type of iron sights or can I go ahead and throw on some techsights?

I am from Kamloops and don't know where this range is but if this thing goes "Optic Heat" I might be down for the drive to try my SKS luck. It has a red dot scope with no magnification but I installed a few modifications that have made my iron sights non operable.
 
I'll do an optic heat if we can get another 4 more people to join us with optic's. Maybe emmab, c3pppo & Dave show up and I'll bring my optic's also so we can have this heat.
