How come Para-Ordnance is moving?

Not that I'm complaining as their new facility is only about 1.5 hours from me but I wonder why the big move?
The Mayor of Toronto (the municipality where Para was) was decidedly anti gun. He made a series of moves designed to appear like he was doing something about gang violence, but in fact just curtailed legal firearm ownership, and made it a hostile environment for firearms businesses. They simply moved to a more hospitable environment.

The Canadian handgun market doesn't amount to a pimple on a gnats a&& compared to the US market and the US represents their largest market. With the fear of further UN resolutions relating to trans border movement of small arms where would you go if you owned Para?

Para has and does support the Canadian Shooting sports and I for one will miss "Made in Canada" on their products.

I don't care about their move at all! Let said we have ten thousand handgun guys in Canada, if Para really produce somethings that we need and look after canadian gunnutz, they would have sold over ten thousand handguns here, the way that they do the business, I couldn't see they can success in the State.

I've been using Para pistols for competition shooting for the past 5 years (I gave up on Glocks) and have nothing but praise for the quality of their products and their customer service.

I expect it also has something to do with the fact that they plan to build an "evil assault rifle." I just hope with our new president and his administration we don't end up with the same anti-gun atmosphere you Canucks have to put up with?

Paraman

You hope for a lot. That said you have the 2nd Amendment that will help you in ways we could just dream of.

Para is buying/has bought the ZM (?) AR variant. A/R types are only restricted up here.

Paras service department Stateside is not what we have up here.

On the one hand people on this forum complain about the lack of Canadian gun manufacturers and on the other when one leaves for America all we have for them is a parting kick in the a$$.

It's sad to know Para has gone south of the border but I do wish them to be successful with their business.

If Miller and alike keep on expanding and spreading their stupidity, other businesses will start looking into moving as well. Us, customers and citizens may follow and move to the USA too; at least the law abiding ones, leaving Canada with greater ratio of criminals/law abiding...
