Last november, sitting still by a trail next to a frozen swamp. Buck comes out, spots me, runs into the swamp, and freezes behind a stump. Boom. Buck runs: leap, leap, CRASH. .300 through both lungs, behind the heart @ 75 metres. Nice clean kill. My first successful big-game hunt.

I got mine opening morning using the Ol waiting against a tree method. I had seen a ton of deer there while scouting, so it was pretty easy. Good thing, too, because later on that day and evening the whole area was swamped with Truck hunters, who had both windows down in their vehicles, ready to blast whatever moved out their windows. I am surprised that is not an option in the poll, as that seems to be pretty common in Alberta(I bet noone will admit to it!)

Ya, my aplogies I forgot about that tried and true method I guess it would fall under the "other methods" option, luckily I haven't encounter that around here dispite the fact that it must be going on....

Where is the road hunter option? (kidding)

I was driving up the mountain to my favorite place. When I went around a corner a 4 point mule was standing there so I jumped out and shot him. Two days later I went out on the quad parked it at the edge of a field. Then walked like 10 steps and there was a 4 point whitetail.it was small compared to the other one though but tastes good. So I voted other.

and congrats to all the first timers.

From tree stand, 75yds using my rem 1100/Hastings bbl and open sights and Lighfield Hybrid EXP slugs. When I shot him he bolted right toward me dropping 20 feet in front of the stand. You can see the ts ladder in the first pic...:D

My dad and I still hunt through an area we call the "Willows".

We walk about 200m apart and usually we catch a buck sneaking out.

Last year he shot a nice 7 pointer that was watching me.

Unfortunately for me, nothing.

Maybe next year.:D
