Took my new 20ga. Wingmaster out for 6 rounds of trap yesterday, first time I'd shot trap in more than a decade. Fixed/modified choke, plain barrel.
Shot high teens for the first 4 rounds, then broke 22 on each of the 2 last rounds. I'm more than a little rusty, but that strikes me as being pretty decent for a field gun...and my first outing with it!

Would I rather it had a VR barrel? Won't lie...the answer to that is "yes". However, as mosinmaster pointed-out, the top of my Remington receivers is milled like the one he has pictured in his post, so provided the bead was centered in that (and I did my part) it was one broken bird after another. I'd lean more to what MM said about the guy behind the trigger being a bigger part of the success than the VR barrel.
