so back to the topic of this thread....
"sustenance hunting" aka poaching and or rustling is something that goes on all the time. If people get desperate there will be an increase, but what's the point if you can't buy gas to get to where the animals are?
the Zone I hunt is about an hour and a half drive. I can hunt in my back yard, it backs on to an ecological zone and that connects all the way down the river valley, its designated as a bow hunting zone only but if your willing to do a little off season shooting there is plenty of game there. Saw a nice little bull moose yesterday browsing on the willows in my back yard, pointed it out to my wife which reminded her that last year a moose came and ate all her peas and I said I would get that 6' fence built to protect her garden.... stupid moose
