How much interest in a Canadian limited edition Ruger No.1?

Just imagine this in .303 , we gotta go full wood guys :agree:

OK, spoke with my lipseys rep. He said it is doable. Ruger wants 250 ordered but Lipseys said they could sell 50 down there , no problem. So, the ball is in our court now. 200 deposits and the order goes in. :)

Likley an 1-A, although it could be whatever people want. That's part of the problem, one guy will want a RSI, the next in maple, etc. If this is going to work, we'll need guys to still order even if its not their exact ideal.
To try to get one that suits the maximum number of people without driving cost up, perhaps just a 1-A with a custom serial like CAN1867-00001?

Someone on CGN suggested a serial number C303-001
C for Canada or Commonwealth and the caliber.

The poll conducted on this forum re choice of Ruger .303 configuration now stands at 77 (31.05%) in favour of the #1-S over the RSI which is at 68 votes (27.42%). It's close but I'm on the side of the #1-S as my choice, with a 26" barrel. The Lee Enfield #5 carbine was rarely as accurate as the longer-barrelled rifle versions, and the RSI has a record of being cranky in the accuracy dept. also.

There are only 150 commiteed buyers at this point and by the sounds of it only 200 rifles coming to Canada with 50 staying stateside, yet app 250 in the poll, so I would hope the poll has nothing to do with the actual order, for those on the fence I would say time is running out.

Delta 1, absolutely no harm in asking. If Ruger is willing to produce more than one model, the interest will likely increase and there will be happy faces all around.

It has already been mentioned, what about a non-standard barrel length? Instead of a 20" or 24" barrel, what about a 21", 23" or 25" barrel? That would make our special run even more unique.

The order doesn't have to be 250. It might end up at 325 for all we know... or 0:eek: I think the extra votes are fence sitters or people that will buy if it comes in the model they want. Thats why if 150 are firm then 200 will come to Canada. ETC.
