Hey all,

Discussion in another thread on the AP-67 has peaked my interest and I'd like to know how much the average CGN'er would pay for a VZ. 58 in 7.62x51? Let's assume that they come in both R and NR barrel lengths with the standard Czech kit (proprietary mags, pouch, cleaning kit, bayo, ect) a mount for commie-style optics and fixed stock. The price points are the maximum which you'd be willing to pay. What say ye?

Never ceases to amaze me. CSA's cost what they do because they're a mostly commercial gun, 858's cost what they do because most of the parts are surplus. What category would this rifle fall into? It's really odd to hear people drooling over the 308 Swiss, the XCR-M and the RFB, but talk about a brand new, commercial firearm based on the Vz58 action and folks don't want to break the $1K mark? Bizzarre. Guess which rifle we won't see?

Given the versatility and price (per round) of the 7.62x39 I just can't see it being worth it. And don't get me wrong, I love semi-auto .308s.

Wtf is wrong with 7.62x39 ? Its cheap as hell and fun to shoot.

Why everyone here is trying to change the Vz58/Cz858 ???

Id rather have it in 7.62x54r than 7.62x51. What I really want to see is a CZ-858 or CSA Carbine in 5.45x39 and some cheap surplus to go with them.

Ideally I would have one gun platform that can handle multiple calibers. ALA AR15. But since they are RES here I would settle for a VZ/CZ 58 in .22lr, 7.62x39, 7.62x51, and some shotgun cartridge. Then I would learn one platform and can do everything with one style gun. :)

They are both 7.62 and will still make the same size hole in a pop can. I would only pay $299 and get the cool looking SVT-40 instead. More accurate and loud enough to scare the hell out of anybody.

It's not made in China.

I'd be willing to pay $1500 for one.

That's exactly it, I don't want a Chinese rifle but would like something mil-style in .308 that's semi-auto without paying upwards of $2000 for it. The .308 hunter-style Saigas sold here in NZ go for somewhere around $1700-$1900 NZD and people shell out another couple hunter to have them converted to the pistol grip configuration just so they look more like the real deal.

I'd be willing to spend $1200 on a NR AP-67 without a second thought and would consider paying up to $1500 if it were chrome-lined.
