How to get 1800fps in a .300 WSM?

SR4759 was developed for the US military, for the purpose of simulateing the helmet penetration criteria without the annoyance of actually haveing to hit them at long range. Conclusion; no use re-inventing the wheel.

Eventually they realized that all the data was flawed due to rotational speed being reduced at a direct ratio to velocity. Conclusion; if you really want to re-invent the wheel, give it a new name and maybe no-one will notice. I recommend "Circular transportation facilitation device."
 
I have done a lot of bullet performance testing. reduced velocity also reduces RPM, which can lead to tumbling you would not see in the real deal. Tumbling is obvious. If you fire several shots, you should have a few that don't tumble, so you can check mushrooming.

However - In all testing, the bullet trap should be at least 100 yards away. A bullet always does a wig-wag as it exits the muzzle. It takes a while to settle down. If the testing is done at 25 yards, the results are shifted because of bullet yaw.

When testing a caliber with reduced laods I always reach for the rifle with the fastest twist. In 308 this would be a Savage. 1:10.

As for powders. 4759 and 2400 would be my choices. If you don't have that on hand, use 4895.

Why would you use expensive jacketed bullets for 1800fps?
Why would you use a 300WSM for 1800fps?
A smaller cased cartridge will give you that with better accuracy/consistency.
I knew I would see one of these here! Why not just shoot a 175gr out of a 30-30?
I understand the OP's question, and if it were me I would choose to do it just for fun! Sorry for NOT having an answer. I do shoot a 300wsm, but load it to the FASTEST and most accurate and have never tried to slow it down.
When I had questions about a 260 and 130gr sciroccos I e-mailed Swift and had a GREAT response from the owner. Perhaps an e-mail to a couple of the powder/bullet manufacture that you plan on using?
