You really don’t care how you try to weasel $5000 out of the public to pay for this way over priced refurb loaded with reproduction parts.

That is some JR Cox type of garbage behaviour, thanks for confirming your lack of principles in the name of profit.
 
A decent condition war config 1903 goes for between $2000-$3500, call it $2500 on the lower end to be safe. If you had to buy a stock or de-sporterize, it might cost a bit more. The scope alone is $600USD, so probably close to or a bit over $1000 up here by the time you import. Full refinish of the metal and wood and mount the scope is probably another $1000, depending on original condition. I would ballpark $4500 for the build as is, trying to be as fair as possible. Is $5000 "way overpriced"? Personally I don't think so.

Where did you get the idea that it is "loaded with reproduction parts?" It is simply an original 1903 rifle that has been refinished, and then configured as it would have been for a 1903 Sniper with the Unertl Scope.

The scope is absolutely a reproduction, but that is probably for the best considering WW2 optic manufacturing technology...
 
It's a cool looking rifle, I'll give it that. But the refinishing doesn't add any value, hurts it if anything. I would have preferred the original finish left alone. It's also not impossible to find those Unertl scopes, they do pop up every now and then.

Meh. I'll take my all original 1903 Mark I with the pedersen cutout all day over this
 
Just put it on a raffle or sweepstakes. At $20 per ticket or 3 tickets for $50, the tickets will sell quickly.
In the end, for $50 or less, you have a chance to win an interesting piece of kit that you would otherwise likely not buy at full retail.

Original style mounts are not the same as original Unertl mounts, so that is another reproduction part.

You provided the answer to your own question and still don't get it or don't care which is why I labeled your actions to be JR Cox behavior, do or say anything to make a buck.

Nearly identical rifle clone build on Rock Island Auctions that was posted in February was valued at $1500-2500 USD which is far from your "friends" $4000-4500 USD claim.

NONE of this justifies your Bubba'd comment. It is a legitmate clone build by a very reputable gunsmith.

You don't like the price then don't buy it. Seems there are plenty of people out here in the anonymous troll-land who disagree with you, and would be happy to buy into a chance to win this rifle.
