How to make people angry on GunNutz - USMC M1903 Unertl Rifle 30-06 Reproduction

OH NO?! A random on the internet didn't get my JOKE and now my unit is reputation is sIgNIfICanTLy damaged?! Please...please no, please sir...

Just like how the Antiques Roadshow road show comment was pure BS...with zero proof...but eaten up immedity but the vendor trying to bend people over for a VERY over priced rifle...I did the same thing but from the other side and because I wasn't #### riding...I am a bad guy

YOU are a joke...

How do you know for a fact that the Antiques Roadshow comment was pure BS? Do you know that person? Do you know that he doesn't have a friend that works there? If the answer to either of those questions is "no", then you can't outright say it is BS. You could say "I think that is BS because xyz reasons", but that would be called an opinion. Just like the business can have an opinion on what the rifle is worth. Details like that matter, especially on the internet where it's difficult to intuit peoples' meaning, especially sarcasm. If you want to be taken seriously, use proper English. And I wouldn't say it was "eaten up", but they too gave the person the benefit of the doubt. Why should they automatically disqualify someone who appears to give a legitimate opinion? They should be skeptical, yes, but they didn't say "HERE IS EXACTLY WHAT IT'S WORTH BECAUSE THIS PERSON SAID SO". In fact it didn't change their valuation at all. It was simply another data point for their interpretation.

No one called you a bad guy ever, and especially not for making the joke. The reaction was to how you handled the aftermath of being questioned on it. I will say though, having a temper tantrum on the interwebs sure doesn't look great.

My friend...maybe the internet is not for you

How about the guy making the claim that the value of this rifle is actually more then the honest, very nice, dealer is asking for!!!...proves it? I am sure he won't tho and NOT cause its BS or not true but because he is a stand up guy that respects and protects his friends privacy!!!

So, I was right; it's pure speculation on your part.

Just because you don't agree with the valuation, doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Of course its speculation, there was ZERO proove given...I assume everything on the interest is BS, because I am not an idiot

Again...why are you not asking the person with the extraordinary claim/s for THEIR proof...

BECAUSEEEE it works for your narrative, very liberal of you sir!

Ah yes, the classic, "everyone I disagree with is a Liberal" remark. How original.

You made the statement several times that "the comment was BS" which appears as a factual statement. I never questioned either of the original claims. I simply asked how you knew for a fact that the other post was BS. If you intended it as an opinion, then like I said, use proper English. Details matter.

The ad says that the rifle was refurbished by Vulcan. While I have never used their services, I have heard nothing but good thinks about Nick and wouldn't hesitate to use him for my projects. I'd assume that it would be assembled and fitted with care if he created the replica.

However, if it were a James River Armory creation, I would want to examine it carefully before purchasing it. Many years back, I ordered a JRA USMC rifle directly from JRA. I was told that it would take 3 to 4 months and was surprised when it arrived in about six weeks. However, when I received it, it had blotches of some grease like stuff on the scope body and receiver, that when removed had discoloured the underneath finish.
When I queried them about it, they suggested Kroil, which didn't help. I suggested some compensation would be in order, and received no reply.

A short time later, I found another one on sale on CGN and bought it and sold the first one at a discount. Now on these rifles, it was very difficult to remove the upper band/bayonet lug. It was driven on very tightly. Now the screw fixing the band in place was 1/8 inch, but the hole in the stock was 3/8 inch. The tight fitting band was required to keep the band from rattling.

I also had one of their 03A3 rebuilds. In all three rifles, the bolt handle contacted the stock, so some fitting was required. The one I have is a good shooter, but not a great one. It has an NOS 1942 Sedgley barrel. The first one I received had an NOS GI barrel, but I thought it was supposed to have a new Criterion barrel. I suspect that someone purchased the stained one and returned it, so they probably thought that they could palm it off on some poor schmuck in a foreign land. That may be why I received my rifle so soon.

Anyhow, I like my JRA 1942 USMC rifle and it's a pleasure to shoot with modest cast bullet loads after a bit of tweaking.

Where is his improper English sir? Did you struggle to read and comprehend their posts?

Bold of you to assume his first, or second language is English.

Those who poke holes at grammar lack any real criticism

“Details matter” and every detail on this rifle is incorrect, including the cost. Was the job well done? Maybe, from a few external photos that could be edified, it is the internet remember?

Has the OP AKA the Vendor PROVEN who did this work? Or are we just taking his word for it? Can we see the receipt from Vulcan? THAT is a detail, a big one, and it is missing.

He used improper English by expressing an opinion in the form of a factual statement. Yes I struggled to interpret his statement as opinion because it wasn't expressed as such. I never said anything about his grammar in particular, but nice try. And if you read the rest of the posts I wrote, you'll see I did in fact have other real criticism.

If you don't believe the seller then ask for more pictures or receipts or whatever you want. Or, you know, take part in the market economy as it was intended, and show your dissatisfaction by not buying it.

That is NOT what “improper English” is or means, not in the slightest. You are an actual idiot, goodbye.

He didn't use the correct words in his sentence to show that he was trying to express an opinion instead of a fact. The English language was improperly used to convey his intention in that context.

You were the one who brought up the specific term "improper English", I never used it before that. Perhaps you are right that I wasn't using it correctly in my last post, that's my bad. However, I think my previous posts about his failing to use English properly to convey his intent was pretty clear.

At least I'm not out here resorting to calling people names. Very mature of you. Bye

Bye!

As someone who likes old milsurp firearms but was too young and broke to take advantage of the cheaper prices on most before they skyrocketed, i think it's a neat gun that I'd definitely throw my sticker in the ring for.

I'd say 100 entries at $50/each would be optimal but I wont complain if it's 200 @ $25/each

Also, y'all gotta calm down with the pricing hate, it's real easy to scroll past something if you don't like it, it's on the internet, just get up and walk away if it upsets you so much haha.

Post #85 "like I said, use proper English"

...take your meds and go to bed old man.

Read Post #91 again, real slow. I said I never used the term "improper English", which apparently according to some has a very specific definition that they will use to throw around as a distraction instead of acknowledging the actual subject of the discussion.

I personally couldn’t justify the cost of the rifle for what’s being asked of it, and I can’t justify pissing away 25 or 50 hard earned dollars on a chance either. For what reason is there no wiggle room on the price of this?

Heaven forbid they take someone at their word. Maybe you're just be used to hanging around liars and cheats? Here's a suggestion: find some better company, you'd be less cynical and probably a lot happier in life.

Lots of idiots on this site brother. The old man always said you can't talk to stupid.

Now both "Parts Unknowns" accounts chime in again, one to insult everyone that has disagreed with their wild claim and the other rage quitting while contradicting themselves after their likely ChatGPT produced paragraph attacks did not play out as expected. ;)

Current market rate for one of these clone build is between average $2200-4000 Canadian with examples all across the US readily for sale and able to imported into Canada with a little bit of paperwork so the $5000 asking price for this clone build without any documentation supporting its claims will be heavily criticized.

No documentation for appraisal/evaluation, multiple reproduction parts, unverified serial numbers (Photos matter and up close confirmation has not bee provided), then we have the random profile claiming its worth $4000-4500 USD by a appraisal based on the few photos provided, add on the entire "It's the only one in Canada" nonsense from the OP when anyone can get one imported relatively easily.

This gorgeous rifle is coming up for sale soon at our store.

Let us know in the comments what you think of this beauty.

VictoryRidge openly asked for what we think and they got the truth which they are not happy with, then they showed the businesses true colours as the thread progressed.

The rifle is over priced by a good chunk which has been called out plenty and now they are beyond doubling down on trying to get that $5000 price point without documentation by resorting to a raffle which is why I made my JR COX statement in regards to doing and saying anything to profit off of the community.

If looking out for others and calling a spade a spade makes me "upset" well so be it, I just laugh because I know I'm right. ;)

Dude just quit, you are a clown and a shill and the whole thread knows it

Nothing worse then an idiot who thinks they are smart, my god

I thought goodbye generally meant you were leaving?

But since you're still here, please show me where I have shilled for anything or anyone? In this thread or others? I didn't attack anyone in this thread, yet I have been called an idiot, a shill, and a liberal. All for pointing out facts and inconsistencies in other peoples' posts just trying to bring clarity to this absolute dumpster fire of a thread. At least VRS is getting lots of views in their forum, they would normally have to pay good money for this kind of advertising!
