It seems your rifle was rebarreled. The barrel should have "Nitro" with "crown over "C"" proofmarks. The caliber marking should also be axially oriented with line of sight and the rifle was a Grade II before the barrel was replaced (it had sights).
Thank you. I guess that explains why the caliber markings were on the bottom of the barrel instead of the top.
The CG Grade II have sights, no jewelling on the bolt body, the Grade III have no sight and a jewelled bolt and "engraved" floorplate
