I'm loving you work Sharpsguy can't wait for you to finish.
Thats a great looking barrel crown! Nice work....gotta love that sks...gun tinkerers wet dream!
But according to some experts on here this can't be done at home.
Brass screw and value lapping compound. There's nothing wrong with doing it this way, it's quite easy to get an even crown no problem. You can measure the crown with calipers. That is an awesome job on the crown. What method did you use?

Do not push hard on the screw let the compound do the cutting.

Here is the result:
Now the question is... What do I do with the muzzle? I could leave it as is or should I thread it for a brake. The brake would be mostly for aesthetics. Not sure if I could make a brake as I don't have a lathe or mill (diy cool factor would be neat). Kinda liking the Wittmachine ones. Any thoughts on a similar style one (maybe less expensive?) I'm cheap.
Post a pic of your crown if ya have a chanceA cone shaped grinding bit I had in a rather larger Dremel tool kit I have. I admit I got a little enthusiastic with it as it's a little deeper than required, but I think I'll be ok. Still might give it a light polish with the brass screw/lapping compound method.
Wow, thanks! I just might take you up on that, assuming it doesn't need to go around the front sight. Mines kinda gone!
I'll get a pic of that crown soon..
