I feel pretty good about my .300 H&H Magnum. No arguements here ;)

If anyone doesn't like it, they can go piss up a rope ;)

The 8mm-06(325-06) has been around since the 40's and by all acounts is an excellent round.

There is lots of reloading data for it.

Thanx for the info. Maybe I'll look into something like that. I always liked unique stuff.

How much is it to re-bbl a Win M70 anyways?

Why don't I like magnums?

Aside from the fact that they're marketed as being "Magnums", and all the hype, controversy, flaming, bashing, weenie-wagging, and so forth that this entails, not much. I'm sure some of them are excellent cartridges and serve their owners well.

Next time I go rifle shopping, I'm going to be looking at what I need the rifle for first, then what rifle suits that purpose and turns my crank, what rounds it's available in, the ballistics data for each round, cost and availability of each round, and probably go for something in .308. But if my research steers me towards something labelled "magnum", I'm not going to let something as trivial as what the marketeers call it get in my way :).

Here are the stats from the remington site/
