I just won the award of the most retarded idiot on CGN....

Gunsmithing for $2300 please Alex.

DING : What is TOO hard?

Sorry. This is no laughing matter. Doesn't help to hear that we have all been there ...maybe not EXACTLY there but wrenched too hard on a LH nut or on one that is just rusted tight or loctighted...etc...and SNAP DOH!

Well...here's to a much better 2015. At least you got THAT out of the way.

I broke a shaft on a turbo with a LH thread. OOPs

OP, you have made the best thread, everyone is showing there humanity, from Polaris, to Fire Truck/ police car. I just have to add I did a fubar, father-in-law drove over to visit I was backing my service van out and ended up launching onto the hood of his Jetta, that's worse than a couple dimples on that rod? Good Luck! :runaway:

You have ta to pay to go to school, been there done that! We have all done bone head stuff. Just the price of being human. Chin up dude, take solace in knowing that someone always stupider than you! Somewhere LOL!!!R:d:

I resemble that remark ! And hey, it seemed like a good idea to use my hand to unplug my snowblower. Now every time I start it I pee a little.

That sucks that you bent your charging handle. Accidents happen. if it makes you feel better, I once had to call my boss and tell him that I lost 2.8 million dollars. Charging handle doesn't seem so bad now, does it?

It wasn't lost for everybody..... I received the cheque !!! LMAO

Well now I'm afraid to look at my charging rod. I tried to take my barrel off too and it wouldn't budge, ended up breaking the tool and giving up.

Guess I'll take it apart now but I'm really nervous haha the rifle will functions fine

So I took her all apart. Took the charging handles assembly out FIRST. And I still couldn't get the damn barrel to unlock (yes I was releasing the little latch on the opposite side)i put almost all I had into it, the wrench was bending it was getting to that point where something was gonna break so I gave up again. Not really sure what's up with that.

The good news, the charging rod didn't even have a scratch on it. So I'm thinking because of the seized/stuck barrel lock, it prevented me from doing any damage like DILLIGAF did the first time I tried to disassemble. The rifle always ran 100% So now I'm gonna re zero my rifle and pretend I never saw this thread.

There is NO reason for taking the barrel out unless your changing calibers or top optics rails ! NEVER take the barrel out for cleaning ! Clean the rifle like the manual says . Not saying the OP took it off for cleaning but im just letting the people know who never read manuals lol.

Taking it apart is the only way to clean the gas block. I scrapped carbon for 15 minutes out of it.... lol...

Why did you clean it, were you having reliability issues ? it will clean itself enough to stay functional , and the brushes in the kit can reach the piston cup on the block, the only part that needs to be cleaned . Do you clean the gas block on a AR?
