morpheus 32; I am sorry you feel this way but like I said in an earlier post, I respect your opinion , but others have opinions too and this is what life is about: being able to understand other points of view. I am no different then anyone else nor do I think I am better, but I may have other likes and dislikes in rifles and I don't know why you would want to belittle my service to my country which you or any one else here knows anything about by comparison - just because you disagree, I guess it happens all the time here on CGN. I never said soldiers are wrong I said they don't get to choose. The forces haven't changed much at all, this I know because I was there then and have friends in the forces that I keep well updated. All males in my family have served for three generations and will continue to.

If it was why are they always trying to improve the round?

Not sure who "they" are however the Canadian military is not seeking a replacement. The gun magazines and people on the internet are actively seeking the 5.56mm replacement. Like I said, it is not an issue unless your on the internet...

One thing I have never been able to figure out.

How is a 7.62 delivered to centre of mass more "deadly" than a 5.56?

We keep hearing about problems with the old xcr, anyone having problems with the newer ones? Like come on, stop bringing up issues that are not issues with the ones being produced today. 1976 chevy trucks rode and handled like crap and sucked back gas, does that mean don't buy a 2010 silverado? Come to think of it, I don't like AR's because of all the problems they had in nam, they must be unreliable junk cuz they were 40 years ago. Find me some evidence that current xcr's are having any issues please.

You don't like AR's because of the problems in "NAM"? Really?

Chuckle!

I owned an XCR, ask me anything you want about XCR's.

Have you ever seen the entrance and exit wounds on human targets with both these rounds? I have and there is a big big big difference.

Especially fighting people who are very dehydrated like the fruit in my cereal, half they time they are too dehydrated to even bleed. Not to mention so damn drugged up it doesn't even register in their junky brains they even got shot so they just keep coming.

Bigger round means better stopping power and bigger holes to help rip apart vital organs.

Also not to mention id rather aim for something big then something small trying to shoot me.

Plus centre of mass doesn't always mean the chest. Means what ever body part is showing. Centre just also means less chance of missing.

ok im done now.

The king is still the AR-15. Since 1989 I've bought and sold about 15 AR's. None of them had the problems of the XCR. The jams and problems I encountered with the XCR in 1 year, surpassed the issues I've had in all my AR's combined for 21 years.

Thats my experience.

It sounds like you had a lemon!

Regards,

Chizzy

Is there really a serious push for the 6.8SPC to replace the 5.56mm - or is it more an effort to find the 'best of both worlds' between the 5.56mm and 7.62mm? There's also the .300AAC and .300 Whisper.

Check out the 30 AR Remington. It sounds like an interesting round.

I don't know how much truth there is in the 7.62 is 'deadlier' argument in normal combat ranges, 150 meters or less.

Out past 300 however the 7.62 will retain more velocity and have more mass, thus at further ranges it can still penetrate deep enough to reach vital organs. Keep in mind; a 7.62 isn't a guaranteed stopper, and training dictates that you should keep shooting the threat until it stops being a threat, regardless of caliber.

Is it really proactive to talk about entrance and exit wounds on humans within this topic or even this site? Does it really have anything to do with XCR fasteners or quality? I'm no lush but If i were an "Anti" i know where i'd i'd copy a line or two to prove my point.

Myself I couldn't care less if the posts your referring too upset an anti if you don't like reading them don't come to this site...

Xcr

This discussion reminds me of others that guys seem to have all the time.

Do a word search and replace....

Rife = "Pick Up Truck"

XCR = "Ford", "GMC", "Dodge" (depending on your preference)

AR = "Ford", "GMC", "Dodge" (depending on your preference)

FN = "Ford", "GMC", "Dodge" (depending on your preference)

HK = "Ford", "GMC", "Dodge" (depending on your preference)

etc. etc. etc...

Amazing.... it still seems to makes sense.

Cheers!

Chuckle. I wish it were that simple.

they don't upset me all, talk about "weapons" and bullet penetration, killing effectiveness all you want...in a XCR is crap post. BTW this is my second favorite site on the net, next to your mom's weapon penetration site

At least I got a laugh out of Parkers post, but katana is right.

I haven't had my XCR all too long, but so far, its been working fine. But in the old gun case will stay a set of allen keys, loctite, and a spare parts kit.
