I see Dlask is offering conplete non-restricted ACR barrels now for $500

Yah but you still need to strip down the old barrel for the gas system etc.... it's not 'plug and play' complete! 95% of people will still need a smith to do the rest of the work.

Don't worry it went to a good home.

That was supposed to be my "never sell" gun.

But then I wanted to move into something better and sold my house, bought something else, blah, blah, blah......and next thing you know, I need the money and it's gone.

Ah well. I hope he's enjoying it.

Now I need a new "never sell gun".

Not necessarily anymore.

Gravel Agency has been getting in ACR spare parts for a while now, someone REALLY needs to order a boat load of parts from them and start making ACR barrel parts kits.

You WOULD however need to take it to a verifier to get it re-classified as non-restricted. I believe it's not something a regular Joe can do by himself (at least I've never tried)

Dlask claims that "this barrel is 100% ready to be installed".

I have no idea what that means.

Yah it's ready to have the gas system installed I would guess. :) If you look at the pic, it's a stripped barrel.

You apparently CAN source gas system parts from Gravel but again, without the proper tools and skills, you'd still need someone to install it.

If it's a 100% complete barrel ready to strap onto a Restricted ACR, it's a bargain and a half.

barrel requires the gas system installed ($450 from gravel) or gas system from stock barrel, which can be done with minimium tools, problem is the gas port needs to be opened up abit to make it reliable with all types of ammo
and yes gravel has stock of the parts, and has for well over a year

Good news is that IRUN has ACR's for $2100 this week. About $2450CDN to your door. A Tavor would be $3100 if I bought one locally.
Swap in that $500 Barrel and your UN-Restricted ACR costs LESS.

THAT barrel? How do you know this? Maybe an AR barrel does but this one being marketed as a ACR barrel by Dlask I'm pretty sure they made it right... They usually do.

And I just bought a restricted ACR. :) This made my day!

I'd like more details on the barrel tho. CMV chrome lined or SS nitride/ceracoated?

edit: email sent to Dlask. And I looked up on an other forum about stripping the barrel/putting it together: It looks pretty straight forward if the Dlask barrel indeed ready (gas block pin and retention ring mostly). I did ask if they'd do it anyway just in case.

From the photo on the sight the barrel has the correct step near the receiver extension for the support bracket for the op rod but you cannot see the dovetail cuts for the gas block to be pinned in place so that would need to be done. It is hard to tell though from the photo

Don't forget about the paper work to re-register it as non-restricted. That paper work might have to be done by a licensed gun smith....

Paperwork yes, do they charge for that too?
anyway it would end up cheaper if you install it yourself hopefully. can't wait to hear back from Dlask...
