Seriously though, is there a reason why 44mag is better than even a 30-30 given choice between the two in a rifle?

Lighter to carry, higher magazine capacity, shorter range/penetration, and cheaper ammo.
It may be quieter as well? or not?

We can make anything that will sell enough to be worth while, i.e. 1000+ units

The problem is mainly one of design, not manufacture.

How many Norc M14's were sold in Canada, if someone bought a M14 they'd probably buy a M1 Carbine.

I'd take a Garand in .308.

Is that not an M14?? Im sure the differences between Garand/M14 are so small it wouldn't be worth producing. Although I would love for my M14 to go clink when I fire the last round.

Personally, I would like an M1 carbine in 9mm, 40 and 7.62x25. The factory that makes the outlaws did make m1 carbines during Vietnam (just try and find any evidence of those)

While I probably would buy one, I almost cant believe the want for an M1 Carbine. Also, being a purist it has to be in 30 Carbine, I realize the cartridge sucks but come on now! I cant picture it in anything else... Plus the shop I work at has lots of it! haha.
