Ideas for Dominion Arms

I think CanAm hasn't responded about the C96 for good reason (If you did and I missed it, I apologize) If it was a viable option I'm sure he would have said something. Though, outright saying No would dash my hopes and dreams but at least I wouldn't be waiting for the day it's announced.

I'm happy enough about the M1 Carbine news and will buy one, Id just also like a C96 that isn't in horrible condition/pristine safe queens which is whats available now...

What about a very short stock for an 870? That way the short barreled Grizzlies will still be counted as long guns.

We could debate that all day. I will leave such things up to each owner to decide.

He is asking if you could make a stock that would put the gun at just over 26". Since there are already options out there to do that I don't see it being a hit.

I'd like to re-introduce my suggestion I made last year in this thread for a semi auto Type 50 (Chinese version of the PPSh-41). Since China produced the SMGs at one time, the specs ought to be around somewhere over there. Just have them make a model with an 18.5 inch barrel as well, if you don't think there'd be enough demand on a restricted model alone.

They stamping dies for the bbl shroud alone would kill this financially.

Being a Mossberg fan myself, a well priced 590A1 clone would be my first pick. Preference is to the 20" barrel, 8+1 capacity model. Ghost rings, bayonet mount... if you include a good quality M9 bayonet copy, you can put me on the pre-order list right now.

not specifically singling this one suggestion out, but it seems silly to me to clone something that already exists on the Canadian market, and is extremely easy and affordable to obtain.

if youre going to make something, either make it in a configuration that is simply unavailable to Canadians, or make a clone of a $2000 rifle that is out of reach for the average Joe's plinking budget.

perfect examples of these are the 8.5-12.5" Grizzlies - while 870s are readily and cheaply available, they are not in such short barrel lengths. the closest you can come to this is by using a Dlask barrel. the 870 Express is actually lower quality than the Grizzly, and would still cost 2x as much. if you up the receiver to an 870P, youll end up with a better gun but at 3x the price.

another example is the M305. Springfield M1As were well out of most peoples price range, the M305 made them easily accessible to everyone.

IMO it would be a poor idea to clone something like a Mossberg 590, just to come in at $100 lower price. very few people would buy them. a lot of the suggestions here are in the same vein - asking to clone something just to make it $100 cheaper.

i second this idea (or something similar):

make them in .22 hornet, .22 WMR or .22 LR, but slightly update the design with 16" barrels and an integrated receiver rail. there is a huge market for an accessible, bombproof 'survival' firearm. the Henry AR7 and Marlin Papoose are overpriced and crap (sorry owners, its true).

id also love a modern pistol in 7.62x25mm.
