Majority of the AR owned by people will still be restricted due to barrel length, however there will be a run on 18.5" barrels.
If AR's became NR I likely wouldn't get rid of my Tavor, as I really like that rifle. But I would certainly be adding more AR's to my collection, or at least 18.5-20" barreled uppers.

The funny thing is time and time again the nearly milsurp AR platform is being adopted around the world. Many first world armies are ditching their proprietary designs/rifles and adopting an AR15 type flavor or issue their proprietary crap to the grunts and give AR15 types to their special forces. e.g. British with their SA80, Germans with their "new" G27/28, etc...
Take the bells and whistles off, and you have the same design that dates back to the 50's that's just as effective today as it was then.
What makes you think that if they make the AR non restricted they wouldn't also change the stupid barrel length limitations to something more reasonable?
If they use a little common sense and do go non restricted it would be nice to think they would apply some of that common sense to some of the other stupid rules we have and get rid of our magazine capacity limits.
If the AR15 went no-restricted, I'd still never pay money for one.
If it ain't piston driven, it's not worth my time. My guns done sh*t where they eat.Do you mind me asking why? Genuinely curious. Seems like a pretty harsh statement for a rifle that is generally regarded as reliable and accurate. What would you use instead?
And yet, when anyone asks why the hell 9 pounds of steel and molded plastic is worth $3000, when a 500 lb lawn tractor can be bought for half that, all hell breaks loose.

Also, I hate the charging handle and forward assist.
Keep in mind, I own two AR15 rifles. I only have them because I didn't have to pay for them. They rarely get used. They are boring.

Honestly, piston driven ARs sound great in theory but they are, and will always be, and add on after thought. They are not designed from the ground up and therefore have their own set of issues. So what you're saying is that my piston AR uppers aren't in fact ARs, thus another design and even more importantly, non-restricted already?!!
There's something in the works. But seriously, when will your new firearm design that you've been working on for the last couple of years be release to us poor paisants?
