Well Brownells just shipped me my Magpul USGI upgrade kits... only took 6 weeks on Back order... Should dress up the pistol mags real nice.... But it still shows B.O on the website...

Just purchased my 14.5 Barrel from S&J hardware. My build is now complete with a total cost of 1162.74

I don't think I could of build it any cheaper. Will be home in 33 more days then I can put her together and take her out to the range...

So basically no cost saving over a complete rifle but you get the satisfaction of using the parts you want and building it yourself

no cost savings as opposed to what? (i'm just curious what you're compairing it to) IMO any complete non-norc (nothing against norinco, I have one) AR15 for ~$1000 is a good buy, I think he did pretty well, i'm looking forward to seeing it completed.

Opposed to a wolverine armalite for 1125 (+tax, shipping) or the core15 for 1099 or the Dpms oracle for 899.........

They don't have the railed foreend or rear sights thought.

Dilligaf, what upper vice block do you have and what brand of barrel/receiver extension wrench?

I don't see 1000$ guns with a nice railed for-end, DD Sights and magpul furniture I used. so a 700$ norinco + all the koolaid would of been more expensive then what mine cost me.

I use the vice and block from Brownells. and I have the YHM tool for my rail.... So 120 $ in parts to put an ar together... I already had them from a previous build ... so I didn't add them to my build cost.... But regardless if you own an AR you should have these tools...
