IN-STOCK: All-New TYPE 81 SR

The fact that it is made in China does not really mean anything. I know a lot about car parts, they are basically all made in China, from super cheap sh.. to top quality.

Depends what you want to pay.

What about Canadian made rifles? Following your argument, they are all good? Yes, No?

There is a French Canadian guy who makes your LMG look like a SVD, what do you think the price tag is?

Remember, this is being sold at the same price as the LMG. what else do you expect?

From what I gathered so far it is a nice retro rifle, all about the looks, and yes, it is a real gun and fires.

It’s funny people bash it being made in china, in reality I have had a lot more problems with my American made firearms

Why would they send the scope separatelly?
Is that a thing and did anyone else recieve the scope before the rifle?

bcos the scope is already nicely packed and it was sourced not from china. im glad they didnt try to taped the scope to the rifle box to save on shipping. i wouldnt mind if it was extra mags but scope no thanks.

so true, who would have thought i would pay more than $100 for a chinese BRAND red dot (holosun $350) and i love it, lol.

Picked it up now from the PO. First impressions, feels small, wood and fit is perfect, no imperfections on mine at all. Some guy posted on fb that the grip is not good, for me it is the opposite. I am happy.

I was hoping for a bigger box that contains both rifle & the scope.
With 2 separate shipments, now there are 2 chances that something will go wrong (lost, damaged etc..)

I wonder if TI could commission some alternate stocks for sale for larger handed folk. It's wood, not metal, so it's not like they need to buy new machines. They just need to borrow the measurements from a well fed wealthy young man; many of the presumably wealthy Chinese citizens I see at work who are attending our local university as foreign students are as tall as the average North American or European born person, but the stock's dimensions sound like they still measured for someone who grew up lacking nutrition during Mao's cultural revolution.

No one is going to commission like 30 units of something.

I feel the same way as Ustauk.I got mine today and it’s for people that can’t buy a whopper because they have tiny hands.it’s quite a joke really.mine has horrible fit and finish.hell,I have some guys blood on both sides of the upper hand guard.my gas block is so far to the left that there is 1/8 of lower stock sticking out of the right side.I have had three type 81’s and all have been garbage.I don’t post anything on these type forms but I can’t let this slide.
Don’t get me wrong, they look cool and it’s the closest thing we oppressed Canadians will ever get to a SVD-63.
here is a few pics straight out the box on mine

I could see an order of 200 stocks being nice busy work between big production runs; the fact that made the SR exclusively for Canada as far as we can tell says they are more flexible the previously thought, as long as no new equipment needs to be procured.

thats the problem with thumbhole stocks, not made for bigger hands.

tabuk would be more suited for bigger hands so i rather see someone here make them for the lmg, hint hint, lol.

My hands are not small but I am not a farmer, so it is all relative I guess. I got lucky on the finish this time. The LOP is okay on this one, definitely better than the folder.

But some small areas are no blued but parkerized. You can see it in one pic above, behind the handguard.

For the guys with the big hands, you can just put a backstrap on the back of the grip.

The interesting thing is, nobody has shot it yet, but the b.....ng is in full swing.

I think this is mostly due to the fact that we are getting basically forced to buy a scope with it - and TI just stopped selling the mount (actually it is just the base) because he has to sell his fantastic red dot, cough cough.

Id approach TI about a warranty claim in regard to the gas block alignment. I wouldn't be satisfied with that either.
